RE 2.5 w/ montubes rock

Staying at a healthy 2.5 will not cause driveline failure. Going over 2.5, you'll need more components...front lca, rear uppers, and front trackbar. This is the best bang for the buck in terms of quality and price. If you don't know, the shocks are repainted custom tuned bilstein 5100's. the bushings have been upgraded from the previous kits. the coils are firm yet smooth, and paired with the shocks, its unbelievable. Perfect height to run my 33's and more room to upgrade to 35s. On the road, it feels very controlled and not flighty. Offroad, along with the combination of my discos, this kit performed above and beyond. The flex is amazing, and the shocks performed at a different level compared to streets. I'm not banging my head as much and I felt more confident that I took routes that I never managed to take with my stock setup. Rear track bar comes with sleeves for the bolts, and the rear links are very sturdy. Bump stops are included if u plan to run 35's...not needed for 33's. Cons - should at least come with rear brake line brackets. My solution... Bolt the rear brake line 2 inches below the old housing. Or u can get a brake line bracket for less than 10 bucks. No biggie. The kit is still complete and if you don't plan to offroad, you don't need to. Lifetime "transferable" warranty too. RE is back!! And with a vengeance for the JK

Great product!

This is the second Jeep Cherokee I have installed this kit on. This lift kit gave me exactly what I wanted, enough lift to raise the chronic saggy rear end of a Jeep Cherokee, and enough room for a little bigger tire. The 2" lift did not effect the safety or driveability of my vehicle, in fact it feels even better on the snowy roads of northern Minnesota. Great product!

Rubicon 3.5 standard kit

It's a great lift for what I wanted. I'm not taking my brand new jeep off road, so I wasn't in need of an aggressive kit. The only bad thing I can say is that I couldnt find out if I needed to order shocks. Rubicons site didn't suggest them and neither did 4wheelparts.com when I ordered. You Deffinitly need new shocks which is fine, but it's nice to have them prior to trying to reassemble your jeep. Also it took 25 days to recieve the kit from 4wheelparts.com. So, if your not going to be hitting the trails and want to clear 35's then this is what you want. Just order shocks also. I personally will not order from 4wheelparts.com again due to 4 different rude staff members over the phone. Completely uncalled for considering I never gave them attitude. I even got hung up on once.

Quality pieces...great price...

Front spacers once measured were actually 1 3/4 inches which turned out to be just fine as it cured my slightly sagging rear springs and leveled out my vehicle. Good pieces overall. Shocks are nice and beefy and the ride is great considering the extra height. I installed this kit *auto technician* myself in a little under 2 hours at work.

Road noise

This was a nice lift kit. It did not change the way my vehicle handled. The only problem that I've had with this is that it doubled the road noise that I used to have. Other than that it is a great product.

Decent kit for the price.

On my JK unlimited rubicon with the soft top, I was able to get 2.25" of lift in the rear and almost 4" of lift in the front. I am a mechanic with a wide aray of tools but only needed a few wrenches and a 1/2" drive sockets with my impact(also a drimal for installing the adjusting washers in the front) to complete the install. With my brothers help(and I timed it)we completed the install in 3h 10m with cleanup. The look and feel is great and handels well on the road and I can't wait to get to the trails in Colorado and Utah to put it to the test. I just wish I would have spent the extra money and got the Monotube shocks.

Great start on Jeep Mods!

This was installed on a 2011 JKU Black Ops, and the ride is great! Preparing for a trip to Moab, I combined this with the new Rancho RS7000MT shocks (since I purchased the kit without shocks) and am really pleased with it so far. Luckily, there are plenty of forums with pros/cons of the install because the instructions were cryptic at times. More pictures would be helpful, even if they were online. I got exactly 2.5" of lift out of it...couldn't be happier

it is lifted 6 full inches

when thinking about this kit consider ordering sye and cv rear drive shaft or scrap the 4 degree shims and get 6 or 8 degree shims I went with 8 works good with my 10 mile round trip to my shop. when I finished the install I had gained 6 inches of bumper height. so far with almost 300 mile on it, it is still the bumpiest thing I have ever driven....its a jeep thing I don't understand...but I love it...I have however broken the door pull strap climing in and out but who cares it my daily driver for life

Highly Recommend This Suspension.

The Rubicon Express 2.5" Standard Suspension System #RE5505 is a fairly complete kit but if you plan on using the supplied twin-tube rear shocks on your YJ's stock rear axle, you can expect contact between the shock tube and the axle tube when installed according to directions. Most people I have spoke with have had this issue and chose to install the shocks upside down to resolve it. I spoke with Rubicon Express and they said not to run the shocks upside down and sent me shock relocation brackets #RE2007 to resolve this issue. The install was fairly easy and takes one person 8 to 10 hours of actual work depending on weather, tools available, and location (garage/shop, driveway, dirt). This lift gives you around 3.5" of lift and after towing heavy trailers, offroad use, and daily driving, the lift has only settled about 1/4". The ride was stiff for the first couple hundred miles but now is very smooth on & offroad. There is an installation video on YouTube that will help an inexperienced installer.

2.5 Rubicon Express lift

Really great construction and amazing ride. I heard that I would get factory like ride but it seems a little better but when you take into account the mono shocks it's way better. It took me 12 hours to install, I could have done it in a few hours if there were better instructions.

Great ride after Installation

Overall a good lift kit and mono shocks for the price. Instructions could have been a lot better with some good photos added. Rear track bar dropdown bracket provided in kit did not match provided instructions or parts list. Had to call RE help desk who explained that they changed from axle side drop down to frame side drop down. Rear sway bar end links have the center metal bushing that is rolled and has a split in it. These bushings are of poor quality and are more prone to failure. I opted to not use the RE rear end links and replaced with higher quality end links from a different vendor.

Good deal for the money

This is a great kit, it lifted my jeep around seven inches because the original springs were so wore out. it rides a little stiff but time will tell. it takes a whole day to install, if i new i would've ordered 6 degree rear axle shims, because the 4 degree shims aren't enough. Chip in tech support was very helpfull and knolegeble with the differant kits and what I was trying to do it's nice to be able to talk with someone who knows what there talking about.

Very robust setup

I used this product to give my 14 jku a little extra clearance. If you own a 2012 or later jk you will need an exhaust mod. If you read the directions you will need 1.5 inch spacers to run your stock wheels.

Great Stuff

My husband and I did the install in about 6 hours. love the look of my jeep now. Instructions were less than specific in some areas, but if you have a little bit of mechanical know-how, you can figure it out. Ride is slightly stiff but that is to be expected. Still rides great and the bilstein shocks are a definite improvement from stock.

Good Buy!

This id a good kit. Nice Ride like stock. I am planning to upgrade to 35" tires. Instructions not to clear, but from that very happy.

Front sway bar links

Front sway bar links should have a bend in them to fit properly. Links are straight, causing binding and loose bolts. Upper and lower connections are offset from each other. Rest of lift is good so far. Will have to change links.

Rubicon Express 2.5 Inch

Very pleased with the installation and how the jeep now rides. Installation instructions were not very good. Online videos are the lifesaver.

For the price is an OK beginner setup

Rides good and it looks better, would be good if we’re told at the store what are we going to get and if we can upgrade right than and there. Didn’t like that comes with a bracket to mount your rear OEM track bar instead that an adjustable rear track bar. Also comes with brake brackets to mount the OEM lines to instead of extended brake lines.
