Tent? $1200. Flexing on my friends? Priceless

This tent is amazing. Easily the best quality you can get for the money. The ladder is still a bit finicky, but the quality of the canvas is amazing. Pumped to camp in this thing in the rain. I added another 2 inch mattress pad from Walmart and it’s so cozy and comfortable. Luxury!

The only bad thing...

I have the first generation and it works great. The only bad thing is that now I want this color instead of the other one!!

Great Tent!

I was looking for an affordable tent to get into Overlanding. I had my eye on the original Smittybilt tent and I thought I had found a good fit for price and options. Then I saw the new Gen2 tent and it offered lots of upgrades with very little additional cost. I haven't been able to use it yet because my tent mounts haven't been delivered but we set it up on a table in the house and my wife, adult daughter and large dog all loved it. Seems to be well made and setup is maybe 5 to ten minutes - including opening all the windows and the rain fly. It should be faster once its actually mounted on the truck.

Great valued tent

Great updates on this model. The cover is now zipped onto the tent instead of velcroed. Much better ladder design, and the grey colour looks awesome. Super happy with this purchase.

Durable and spacious!

I love it! Fits 2 adults + 3 dogs (small, med, & large). I have researched all the tents from the $3600 range to this one. Used it once already and while my friends got rained on, I enjoyed the sun shining through the skylight and the cool breeze running through the tent. Highly recommend and great price

Good Tent

I have set this up three times now and it easy to do. Takes about 10 min. Nice sleep and pockets to put keys and stuff in. Good tent for the price.

Great product

Would love to see a better mounting bracket option from the manufacturer. Everything else seems to be good quality.

Great tent

I love this tent. The only issue I have with it is the straps that go over the cover are not long enough.

great tent

love the tent. easy to set up. super durable. i was on south padre island with 28mph winds with the rainfly on and didnt have a problem. no wind comes thru the sides of the tent or anything. only complaint is what all rooftop tents suffer from and thats the mattress is horribly uncomfortable. but a 3” foam mattress topper can fix that

zipper problems

i own 4 smittybilt tents, and i think it was a mistake to change the velcro to a zipper on the travel cover for the gen ll. already having problems with the zipper, first trip out. love the color though

Awesome tent!

This is my first roof top tent but I’m completely in love with it. It’s winter, but we’ve used it several times. If you just need to quickly climb in to sleep, don’t worry about putting all the poles in the rain fly. Set up is a breeze and everything seems well made. The mattress is pretty comfy. My monster 0 degree sleeping bag folds nicely with the tent. Only critique I have is that the Velcro straps on the outside to keep it folded are hard to get undone. I’m thinking of sewing buckles in instead. Overall, I love this tent! Looking forward to purchasing the annex and when the weather gets warmer!

Overlander Gen II review

It's a great RTT. My only complaint is that the aluminum framing has sharp edges that will ruin the vinyl cover over time. They should soften the edges. Otherwise I would give it a 5 star rating!

Nice tent. Rain fly SUCKS

Took 4 months to get here got to use it September long weekend. It rained. The “improved rain fly Sucks. It just fills up with water and when you climb the ladder to get in it dumps all over you. Other than that it is a solid tent. Great for dry weather. Not the best for rain. The ladder is a much better design over gen1.
