This is my first roof top tent and I love it, it’s awesome me and my wife use it just about every weekend on our camping adventures

We purchased our Smittybilt Gen2 about a year ago and it has been a great purchase! There is plenty of space for two people. It has a light that is powered via USB that makes the tent very bright and the foam mattress is actually pretty comfortable. We live in Florida and we camped through a tornado warning, very very heavy rain and wind and water did not get inside and our tent held up very nicely. We plan to take this bad boy across the US on our honeymoon!

Upgraded from a gen1 XL to the Gen2 and everything I complained about in the gen1 was addressed in the gen2 very happy with this tent

Easy going with assembly and very pleased with quality. Wife and I took a nap in the driveway after initial setup and were nice and toasty even though it was only 36 degrees outside.

It feels durable and easy to setup roof top tent installed on my Honda CRV 16".

The tent is incredible quality. If you considering a less expensive tent just spend the extra 250 and get this over the gen 1. The packaging was amazing and left little room for there to damages during shipping. Ive had it 3 weeks and slept twice in it. Once in 50 degree weather and another in 32 degree weather. Both times very comfortable. The only possible complaint i have is that there shpuld be a different set of spring bars that can occomidate for the roof of a truck. Many people put the tent below roofline on the bed pf their truck and this prevents ypu from being able to install the last rainfly spring bar. However of you have a roof rack or some ingenuity you can figure out how tp make it work. A spring bar with a bend in it would be nice for this reason.

Nice roof top tent, it's better than the first gen. The only downside for me is the exhaust opening came riff. The cover came with a zipper, better than the old velcro style with the first gen. They upgrade the ladder too. Good buy.

The tent was damaged in shipping. COVID-19 times delayed the customer support response, however, 4WP took care of the issue. The tent is well made and seems durable. Still have yet to take it out on the maiden voyage. Mounting it atop an expedition trailer.

Seems to be a great tent but haven’t used. It whistles loudly while driving. There’s no instructions in the box. Open the tent and the instructions are there. Mounting is very easy and the tent appears to be very well made and roomy.

I’ve had a Smittybilt tent from The original release. I’m Very happy with the new improvements to the tent. The rainfly coverage, the increased size of the frame tubing , the new telescopic ladder , heavier duty cover that uses a zipper to ensure tent complete dry. But be careful if you get one now. Check all your stitching and the tent very carefully. I removed the rain fly to watereproof the seams a bit better and discovers all the stitching is coming out only after 2 uses. As well the material in the bottom of the tent that is supposed to be in the groves is out on either side making the tent useless to ever use the annex. They really need to step up their quality control , especially when they say they are so confident that they offer a 2 year warranty. Of course my local 4WP is going to order a replacement , but I’ll use mine till the end of summer and order a replacement in October in hopes that they have fixed their quality control at the factory. All in all it’s a massive improvement and I’m very happy with the new Gen 2. Once they get the quality control issues figured out that I’m seeing more and more comments on line about other issues, I’m glad it’s not just me. Only reason I can’t give it 5 stars review is be use of the manufacturer defects that are making me have to return it and get a new one

Utilized the tent and was pleased with the packaging and have to say that it was pretty insulated and kept us warm at night. Very easy set up and break down. The reason why i gave it 4 stars is because i felt like the instructions to initially build the tent could have been given more detail. We had to look through other tutorials in order to make forward progress. Still looking for videos in order to properly install the light strip provided to place inside the tent.
