The Smittybilt XRC 9500 Gen 3 is a great winch. Smooth and quiet operation. The handset controller is ergonomic and easy to use. I especially like the magnets and the built in flashlight.

Installation instructions were not as complete as I expected, but I didn't have any problems with the installation. Even though they specified blue Loctite for the rope anchor screw, they didn't include any. So I had to run to the auto parts store. You will also want to watch some YouTube videos to help you decide on the best wire routing for your Jeep. Overall, though, it's not too difficult. The winch ran smoothly loading the rope. The load indicator on the controller is a very nice feature.

Great transaction with the guys at 4wheel Parts, Can't remember the sales persons name but he was very helpful, I recently bought my Jeep and he came outside to check it out and was able to tell me the type of lift I have and give me pointers on different things about my rubicon. The winch was a breeze to install, I haven't used it yet but I'm happy to have it just in case!

Added this to my 2019 JLUR on an after market copy of the Mopar Stubby steel bumper. While it's a tight fit on the bumper, it does fit. Installation is straight forward and SB includes color instructions that are easy to follow. On the trail it performs great and I have no issues in the half dozen or so times I have used to help others that got stuck in mud or over a large rock.

Install was easy. Told bumper would have to be removed and quoted 2 hrs at 149. I installed myself, easy install.

Seems well made with nice features. Only complaint is it does not fit well with the Smittybilt XRC Gen 1 bumper. Took 2 trips to 4WP to get it installed right.

So far I'm really happy with the fit and finish of the product. I've only spooled in the rope at this point, so no real world use from it yet, but I think it will do exactly what I need. The handle is pretty cool with all it's features, I wish it was cordless like some of the other winches on the market, but maybe that will come later. Fitting the wires on my WJ is a little tight, I worry about them pushing against the radiator so I've zip tide them to the custom bumper I built for it.

I put this winch on a 2014 wrangler with an ARB stubby bumper. With the control box mounted in the center I just didn’t have enough between the grill and the control box for the wiring. I had to mount the control box over the motor. Other than that I’m happy with the install.

Finally got to installing after it sitting around for a month. Putting everything together was easy but mounting it onto my bumper was a pain because it's a tight squeeze. Love the cable light on it and it'll be convenient when using at night. The light up logo is pretty cool as well. Can't wait to get my first use out of it.

Winch is great only used it twice but the"push to release" tab on the plug sucks broke first time i used it so i spent hours fixing to find out i can only get a new controller if i send them a picture of it .

Love the look and operation of the wench. Only complaint is it is a tight fit even for a smittybilt bumper and took a bit to position the cables to not rub against the body of the vehicle and would have been nice to receive a bag with the winch instead of having to purchase on after the fact.

Winch is pretty amazing! Easy install, with instructions. Although, in the ad it stated I would receive a free aluminum winch shackle. I emailed customer service but they never got back to me after the initial "I'll check". Otherwise I love the winch and the lights. Can't wait to use it, I waited until on a winch until I can get this one.

This is the first winch I've owned. I haven't used it for recovery yet and can only speak to the build and features. The winch is light and appears capable, I like the ability to source power from the winch itself to hook up my air compressor. One draw back is the remote which is already getting stressed at the end of the connector after running it three times to tension the winch line. I'm afraid this will fail and leave me stranded!

Mounting instructions get a barely passing grade and you will have trouble free spooling the first 2 or 3 uses.
