I needed a winch, but wanted to stick with the factory front bumper as it's much lighter than an aftermarket part. Of course this means you have to come up with a way to bolt it down. The normal, flat winch plates are functional, but raising the winch an inch or two leaves more room for the fairlead and gets it winch above the swaybar. Everything about the install was simple and it fits perfect. It's a stout chunk of steel with solidly welded webs and leaves nothing to be desired. If you're putting a winch on your stock bumper, get this plate.

I was absolutely shocked to see a product from Smittybilt that was so well thought out. I've had a number of Smittybilt products in the past (all steel products, as I don't really trust anything electronic/mechanical from them) and I've yet to be genuinely impressed with the quality. My steel corners, rock sliders and 3" flares are all nice, but the fitment was a bit rough at times and the supplied texture coat chips off very easily which promotes premature rust. That said, the SB2802 winch plate is leaps and bounds superior. I was amazed to see the product is actually powdercoated. The coating is thick and heavy and very durable. It seems to be slightly rubberized as well, which adds to the long term durability of the plate, especially in regular used. I was also pleasantly surprised to see they included crush sleeves for the swaybar mount bolts, that way the plate stays level when you torque down the bolts. This product has rejuvenated my interest and faith in the Smittybilt line, as I was beginning to lose hope. My Warn winch mounted to it without issue and all is well and wonderful in the world! This winch plate is really have duty and I love that it lifts the fairlead off the bumper.

Winch Plate fit good. Had to take off plastic guard that covers bar in front. Bolts that came with plate weren't the right size and not long enough.

I bought this winch plate knowing it would fit my Wrangler, but not my winch. I have a 5000# UTV winch and the bolt pattern is different than a standard truck/Jeep winch. I had to cut-off the portion of the plate with the tab that mounts the roller fairlead and drill new winch mounting holes. After some prudent planning and touch-up paint where I had to cut and drill, the plate excepted my winch. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Took about a day for the modifications and mechanical installation.

Works as expected, don't expect anything but crap instruction from anything from Smittybilt. If you plan on putting this on a OEM bumper be ready to cut and grind a lot! As far quality its good stuff. 4 stars because of trash instructions, this does not fit INSIDE OEM bumper, sits on top.2018 JKU

The plate went in like a glove , badda boom badda bing I had a winch mounted even though the box looked like it was dragged behind the truck and the mounting hardware was missing.......

Winch plate looks great, intalled easily. Only problem is the hardware supplied did not fit my TJ, had to reuse the factory hardware.
