A: I didn't have any problems mounting the hardware plate to my 2003 Jeep Wrangler. Everything worked for me.

A: It is a nut plate used during the installation process. The rod allows the nut plate access to the inside of the frame rail since there’s not a whole lot of room.

A: The width of the raised portion of this winch plate is 25”. Not sure what loop you are referring to. Maybe the tow hooks?

A: If your stock front bumper is steel, then no this will not work. If it’s a plastic front bumper yes it will.

A: Hello This plate is designed to be a top of the frame mount. The CJ's normally would have a side mount / angle brackets from plate to side of frame. I have seen this used on CJ's but you would need to make brackets to attach it.

A: The Smittybilt winch plate is all you need to attach the winch to the Jeep. Just 4 bolts attach the plate to the frame, 4 bolts attach the winch to the plate and 2 bolts attach the fairlead to the front of the plate. 10 bolts total then you are ready to go get stuck.

A: Millerboy, yes this Smittybilt winch plate will work with the Warn VR8000-S. They both have a 10"x 4.5" bolt pattern.

A: Yes, this winch plate can be mounted to the factory OEM bumper, but you will have to cut and adjust some of the plastic portions. Once the adjustments have been made to allow for clearance, the winch plate mounts up very nicely.

A: We don't see any issue with the plate mounting to the bumper. If the tow bar brackets do not mount to the top bolts of the bumper, you should be good to go. If they do mount to the top, you may need longer bolts to mount the winch plate. Also, we need to inform you that if you mount this winch plate to an OEM (factory) bumper, you will need to cut the plastic around the bolt holes for proper fitment. Thanks!
