Reviews: Smittybilt SRC Front Bumpers

I bought this for my new 2014 JK Willys edition Wrangler along with the awesome new X2O Gen 2 Comp series 12,000 lb winch. This will be used for mild 4 wheeling in case a self recovery is required. I'll feel much safer knowing that I now have a very good chance at being able to get myself out of a jam off road. I like it so much, I bought 2 of them today, one for me and one for my buddy!

Bought the SRC Carbine Mid Front Bumper on a Tuesday and had it delivered, free shipping, on Thursday (thank you 4wd.com). When delivered the box was slightly opened at the corner, which exposed the end corner of the bumper with minor scuffing, but nothing a touch up of bedlinen can't fix. This was most likely due to UPS shipping and the weight of the bumper. Once opened, I was hesitant about the powder coat, but it is by far much superior to Barricade brand (friend has a similar mid front bumper by Barricade, which he had to have re-powder coated due to rusting within 2 months). I do have Smittybilt side rails also, 2 years, which are holding up perfectly from northeast winters. The bumper itself was easy install, hardest part was take OEM bumper off and accessing the bolts. Defiantly worth the purchase, especially for the price!

Installation was a breeze, everything fit perfectly. The only "con" I can think of is that it could use a location to mount the front license plate. Over all it is a 5/5.

I love this bumper. Extra light brackets, open for alot of winch room, super nice!!!!!! Great price. Installs in 10 min or less. You cant go wrong with this one.

I was cut off the other day and hit the passenger door of another vehicle with this bumper! All I can say it WOW!!! Ive had this bumper for less than a year and I was devastated because i surly thought it would be done for... I got out of my jeep and took a look at it, first off this bumper ripped of the Hyundai's door skin! Their door was stuck on the shackle mounts, I pulled the door of my bumper and the bumper was scratched but UNBENT and UNDENTED! HOLY COW this thing is durable!!! Kept me and my jeep safe! (those in the other vehicle were fine, just a bit startled) If your thinking about getting this bumper stop thinking! Get It!!!

Delivery was ridiculously fast.. Even over a holiday weekend. Installation was easy! To be honest, it took me longer to get it out of the box then actually installing on the jeep. Took the stock bumper off and put this one on in 30 minutes. Very Simple. Very Fast. I couldn't be happier. Bumper Looks great.

Awesome bumper that looks great and holds my factor fogs as well as two 8" Pro Comps with their covers. Easy install and you can't beat a free winch plate.

It was very easy to install took no more than 30 min.I have a 06 wrangler did not have to do any grinding took the 6 bolts off stock bumper pulled it off slid stinger right on put 6 bolts back in no problems .I am still not sure if I like the look yet. There is nothing wrong with the product it just looks kind of like a tow bar on front . I got a winch on the way so maybe that will improve the look. Its very well built and you cant beat the price . Just make sure thats the look you are going for before you order it.

Looks great and great price! Sticks out further then I thought. Save your top bumper cover and cut it to fill gap between bumper and grill. Need to extend the fog light harness to reach new location. One of the corners arrived dinged (missing some paint/powder coat). No reply from 4wd.com about the damage. Instructions said to redrill but didn't need to on my 2014 jku rubicon. Did I mention it is heavy? It is! I have a leveling kit and it dropped the front 1/2 inch which will help rear brake wear vs front. No need to relocate the vac pump. Inside mounting bolts can be reached from underneath with a box wrench. Did it solo and had no problems.

After talking with a sales rep I found all the parts I wanted with this including a winch. Very easy to install. I even did the winch plate and the winch. Please keep in mind when u get all of them at one time make sure u mount the winch to the plate then to the bumper. I had to take everything a part 2 times lol. Over all I had a good time installing this as it was my second biggest project on my jeep. Also just so u dont do what I did it doesn't come with d-rings.

Great bumper for the price. Better than expected. Also got the adapters to mount to my CJ. Some cutting was needed, but install was still very easy. I will be getting another for the YJ.

Nice fit , down side is drill out bolt holes on jeep supports bigger then instructions say .

Easy to follow instructions and quick installation. You need a special torx head but that's the only bad thing. Took about one hour to install. Great product.

This bumper took me around 20 minutes to install , this I a high quality bumper for the price , I even previously installed a smittybilt winch on factory bumper I had my son hold one side of the new bumper my wife on the other and I lifted the winch and it slid right on bolted back really easy I have recommended this bumper to friends and will continue to do so keep up with the great product Smittybilt

I never thought I would write a review for this bumper but after my accident today I figured I would have to. This bumper is probably the sturdiest, best looking, and most rigid piece of equipment on my car. Today I ran into the brick divider between my garages and this bumper took it like a champ, it hardly scratched and did quite a number on the brick wall. This Bumper doesn't limit any clearance and doesn't add nearly any weight. Along with the garage, this bumper has done a great job of running over trees, mailboxes, trashcans or darn near anything else that has gotten in the way. A couple months ago I hit a Nissan Altima and tore a hole in the trunk and smashed the hell out of the back end, but there was not a single scratch on my car or the bumper. The bumper is winch plate accessible and has room for 4 lights, but I use the top 2 holes to mount my jack. You would be making a mistake to not choose this bumper, it has been worth every penny I spent on it. You will not be let down. Smittybilt is the way to go if you want a reasonable price and outstanding performance.

I went off-roading this past month and hit a tree pretty solid after sliding down a muddy hill. This bumper took the brutal impact and saved my jeep. If I was still running the stock bumper, my whole passenger side front end would have been wrecked. This a very durable bumper and I would highly recommend you replace your flimsy front stock bumper with this one.

Great style for a yj. Holds up great offroad.
