Just installed this product on my 2010 wrangler this morning. Took less than an hour to install. I could notice the improvement in acceleration immediatley. Also has a nice sound from under the hood.
For the price, this upgrade was what I was looking for to help increase HP and increase gas mileage.
I would recomend this to anyone.
Very easy to follow install instructions. I recommend to build the air dam and put it togheter with the filter before openning the hood. You can really tell that your engine has improved in performance right away and I was having a hard time staying off the gas pedal. I added a throttle body spacer with this cold air intake upgrade right before a road trip from Tucson, AZ to Connecticut and with the help of my GPS was able to confirm an increase on MPG's. The owners manual and the EPA put the HWY MPG's at around 17-18 MPG's for my 01 Cherokee but I ended recording an average of 22 MPG's over most of the trip.....did I mentioned that I was having a hard time staying off the gas pedal??.... Throttle response was improved right away but I feel that you have to drive your vehicle for a few miles before the engine control gets used to the additional air surge. Don't expect the so called "seat off your pants" acceleration effect that some people talk about but but be pleasantly surprised to enjoy the gained performance you get from this upgrade. My only complain is that you get to keep the stock hose from the throttle body to the air intake but since I added a spacer I don't think it matters that much since the additional air goes thru the throttle body before being discharged into the intake manifold. The 30 mins installation is right on......can't wait to see how the engine will perform with the addition of a performance exhaust and maybe a chip programmer.....
Why Did i wait on this? I put on the intake and throttle body spacer at the same time. You can really hear a nice growl from the intake when you step on it but it is silent under regular driving. Really fun to roll down the windows and floor it on the onramp. I can feel more thrust. I have stock exhaust still. 05 Suburban 5.3 Litre
I love the way it sounds.
For the cost of this unit, it is already cheaper than other brands, and looks exactly like more expensive ones, it fits and mounts perfectly. I bought 2, one for my 2500HD 6.0L, and one for my WJ, and both fit great-easy actually. Its hard to tell but, performance wise, I think there is a little boost, more noticeable in the 2500HD than the jeep, less downshifting on inclines is one thing I noticed. So far, very happy with my purchase.
easy fit, nice engine sound, [...]
Instruction are very easy to read. Everything included and installation was clear. Quality looking CAI that fit perfect. I would recommend this the air raid kit to my buddies. Thanks
Product appears to do all it advertises and appears to be well built.
Very easy to install and it definitely adds to the throttle response. Not too sure about mpg improvements, but for the first time ever the Jeep was cruising up the hills and not being passed by everyone. I wish I would have installed it years earlier!
Solid product, good construction. Noticeable difference when hitting the gas at passing speeds (50-70 mph). Little cabin drone when cruising.
Great product, I used it in conjuction with the aFe throttle spacer. Nice growl above 1800-2000 rpm. More throttle response and torque. IMPORTANT: I almost busted the temperature sensor while removing it from the factory hose, even though I was very careful and followed directions. So I did this: Before you attempt to remove it, first remove the air intake hose from the throttle body. Pull the hose toward you a little bit,(it's rubber it will bend easily) without straining the wires too much, look inside where the sensor protrudes into the hose, and spray a very small bit of either WD-40 or white lithium grease where the plastic flange on the sensor touches the rubber grommett. This will make it very easy to pull out while twisting
helped with throttle response
This product helps the vehicle breathe better, slight gain in HP, nothing great though. Everything lines up good during the installation process with one exception. The supplied bracket that stabilizes the center of the air tube and attaches to the center valve cover bolt did not line up correctly, so I didn’t use it. The entire system is sturdy enough.
I installed this on my 2011 JKU. I'd done my research and knew this would add horsepower. I was surprised just what a difference it made, especially in the low to medium range. Throttle response is much better in the low end and it transitions nicely through the mid range. It also gives the engine a deeper, throatier growl as it revs. Only downside: When installing, the instructions say not to disconnect the wire harness from the factory temperature sensor while removing it. Don't listen to that. Remove the harness clip and it makes life easier. My probe wouldn't budge so at one point my hand slipped and broke the clip. It still plugs in but now it won't lock in. At some point, I'll get a new connector for it but it works well enough for now. In the end, I'm very happy with Airaid and this product.
This intake seems to give my pickup better throttle response, maybe 1mpg improvement. It sounds good also.
The Airaid intake system arrived missing 2 small parts (well nuts). I had to make 2 calls to Airaid and a trip to my local 4 Wheel Parts store to assist me. I got the impression that Airaid shorted this part in numerous packages. Make sure to inventory your parts before pulling your OEM intake filter out. [...] once installed...wow. You get an immediate announcement of your new toy. The engine gives you a solid roar when you accelerate.
The only thing I can say is don't waste your money on any other filter!!
Took me about 2 hours to install it on my 04 Rubicon, would of gone a little faster if the instructions/photos were a bit more clear but after I got it on I started my jeep up and standing by the intake I could feel the air being sucked into it. I have noticed better power on the free way, I don't lose much speed going up in incline with my 33's. Looking forward to seeing how much fuel I'll save!
