Reviews: AIRAID Cold Air Dam Intake Systems

Chevy fans looking for a quality intake kit that installs easily and makes power should look no further than AIRAID's cold air intake for the late-model Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, and Avalanche. This intake system installs in around 30 minutes with simple hand tools and really wakes up the engine while improving mileage at the same time. The Cold Air Dam panels replace the restrictive factory intake box and a new intake tube further optimizes airflow. The heart of this system is the oversize filter, which has more surface area than the original air filter for better flow while maintaining good filtration. This kit includes the SynthaFlow oiled filter, but there's also the 201-233 non-oiled version for those that prefer a dry filter. The best part is the sound; when you step on it, it has a healthy growl, but in normal everyday driving you hardly know it's there. Everything is made in the USA and guaranteed for life. It just doesn't get much better than that!

The AIRAID Cold Air Intake for the 2007-2011 Jeep Wrangler is one of the best bang-for-the-buck intakes on the market. It has a sealed intake box, meaning the intake box has a lid to help protect the intake from water and debris during deep water crossings. It utilizes the factory cold air scoop, which is well protected, and this feature also makes the intake compatible with most aftermarket snorkel systems. Inside the box is a massive cone-style filter, which is much larger than the stock paper filter and flows way better. This kit has the SynthaFlow oiled filter, but there's also a 311-208 non-oiled filter option available. This kit definitely picks up power lost from installing bigger tires and adds a nice growl when you step on it. Let's face it, these JK engines need all the help they can get, and the AIRAID kit really helps out!

It seems like just about everyone makes a cold air intake for a TJ, but after doing the research I decided on Airaid due to the reviews I had seen elsewhere and the fact that they've got a pretty good reputation. I'm very pleased with this intake. Everything needed for installation was included and the instructions were very detailed. Installation was cake. The box that mounts on the fender seems to do a great job keeping the air filter supplied with cool outside air, and the Airaid intake tube is clearly better than the factory dimpled intake tube. I like that you can hear the intake growl when you stand on it and the kit really shines in the mid-range rpm. No tune was needed with the kit and I prefer the oiled SynthaFlow filter because it seems to go longer between cleanings when off-roading. Overall a big improvement over the restrictive factory intake! It definitely helped restore the power I lost when I installed 35s on the Jeep and would be a great addition for any TJ owner.

It is as described as manufacture says! Don't hesitate to buy this product if in the market for CAD.

First of all I was shocked how easy it was to install. I bought this for my 2010 JK unlimited that I bought new with bottom line cheep rims and tires (16" P225 75 R16). Before Airade installation I was averaging 280 miles per tankfull. After installing Airade I average 325 miles to the tankful. I have owned this Airade for 6 months now and already I have saved approx 10 to 12 dollars per tankfull. This surely is paying for itself. Now for the good news! At the same time I installed my airade I installed new procomp tires and rims size (305 65 R17). I anticipated a big loss of 30 miles to the tankfull. However the numbers I quoted above are with the new larger and heaver rims and tires. I did purchase a procal recalibration module to recallibrate my settings to callculate correct speed and also callibrated axle. I did not know anything about the above but with some online searches I was able to learn what I needed to do. So for me the AIRADE increased my mileage and as an added bonus it sounds mean when reving it up. Great pruduct AIRADE!

I installed a MBRP Exhaust with this system but did the installs a day apart. (Exhaust 1st) The exhaust definately added power but after I put the CAI on it was night and day! Increased power and made a huge difference in the sound.

installation instructions were well written and pictures reflected actual engine layout. installed on 2010 F-150 with 5.4L has helped low rpm power and torque when towing a boat trailer. No problems with the product.

This cold air intake installed very easily, it's a solid construction and my jeep feels like it woke up after this, it was a nice addition with an exhaust. The only thing I noticed was the hood insulation sits on the rubber gasket, doesn't seem to be a problem and makes a good seal.

Took 1hr to install start to finish.open up throttle response and took away lack in motor durning shifting.

This intake is awesome and easy to install. It definitely improves low end torque and high end horsepower. I also installed the Airaid throttle body spacer and that is awesome too. Gas mileage instantly increased 2-3mpg. It just sounds so mean, like there is a supercharger in there now. Definitely recommend this to any Jeep enthusiast thats looking to get a little more bang for your buck. Very happy that I chose this one and i did a lot of research before i finally decided to get it.

Would buy again it did give more power but not sure how much and when you punch it, it sounds like you have a bigger moter.

I installed this to add some extra power after adding 35" tires to my jeep. After doing so I can feel the difference. This intake on my jeep adds a very nice growl under load but is quiet when just moving along at a normal pace. I would for sure tell anyone who has a JK to get one and that you will be happy with the purchase for sure.

Product I got was a air filter system for my 93 jeep easy to install looks good and make it run a little better thank you 4 parts for making it so easy

It was easy to install for an amateur installer. Noticed slight power gains, but I want to get it onto a Dyno to really check out how much HP I gained.

pictures and directions make it easy to figure out how to go together. i origanally had just the air setup without shield,in summer conditions it was actually worse off because heat off headers and water splash. bought the box im happy.

I just put my intake on my 09 JK unlimited and man can you feel the difference! It was very easy to hook up and quick. I did it in less then 2 beer cans! I been waiting to get my intake for the longest time. Sounds beast like to when you floor it! Now I can't wait till I get my BORLA exhaust to top it all off.

Super easy install, everything fit perfect, nice sound at full throttle and a little better gas millage.

I would recommend this intake to anyone looking for a good kit. This is all top quality well manufactured stuff included. The install involves a lot, but has good instructions with pictures and is not hard. I also put on a Painless Wiring Throttle Body. I would say the Airaid kit was made better and came with higher quality parts.

I really bought this just for the looks & ability to clean instead of replace. I was thrilled & amazed to see an instant 3 mpg increase in fuel economy. I certainly don't doubt the claimed 14 hp increase.

I put the system in and started the engine noticed a differance right away. Then when I drove my jeep I was impressed it screamed!!! Cant wait to put the cat back exhaust and programer in then watch out gonna get a ticket haha!
