Reviews: Tuffy Deluxe Stereo Security Consoles

I bought this Tuffy Deluxe Stereo Console, 8-inch, to replace my factory unit, so when I wheel with my tube doors, I had a place to secure my stuff. You can see the install on TTORA, Garage Section...look for TejasYOTA. THE 8-inch wide console does fit snug. Operating the safety belt is slightly tougher, the over height is taller and with the cup holder I place, it sits back further too. Even though those two items are kinda bad, the worst is that the bolts were too long and I had to get new shorter, by 1-inch, bolts. Other than that a great product that holds a bunch of my stuff. I am debating to relocate both my CB and radio receiver.

I needed enough room to separate all my things in my jeep. I now have a place to put my phone and a separate place for my charger. I also have a place to put my tools for my wench and tires. Hard-core console fit perfectly in my 86 Bronco. It has enough room for my binoculars, my night vision goggles and two pistols. Locks up tight! Where the stereo was supposed to go I added a power bar.

Excellent product. Nice having cup holders and a secure place to lock up valuables in a Wrangler.

Installed in an 83 cj7 with no major issues. I have stock seats and wanted to install the cup holder on the front. Have a manual trans so I had to slide it back a little. No big deal but I did drill new holes to mount the seatbelt straps. Comes in handy and keeps the seatbelts from flapping around....wasn't a big deal but now it sure is a nice touch. I was able to mount my uniden pc78ltw cb radio in the radio slot with a LITTLE bit of grinding to open up the hole....cb radio cases are definitely not standardized in size or shape. Putting this console in a CJ-7 Project. After getting my hands on this, I was confident enough in the secure construction that the Stereo got an upgrade. I'm not worried about the local rip and remove artists getting their hands on it, this console seems sure to keep my equipment safe.

This is the second Tuffy console I've put in a Jeep. Can't beat the security and usefulness. The floor bolts were a little too long, so I had to add some extra washers, but otherwise a flawless install.
