Great base kit to expand on with more parts. I recommend getting a front adjustable track bar. All in all I love this kit.
16 jku sport. The kit came complete with everything that’s needed. Everything feels solid, good quality. You reuse the sway bar links rear -> front. New Rear links come with the kit. The springs are beef. Basically the kit is flawless for an average joe like me. Came with everything needed. Even came with brake relocation brackets. I didn’t use them they made the brake lines real intimate with the suspension. Install took 2 evenings. Using $200 in harbor freight tools it got done easy enough. I’m a complete noob, I’ve never changed my own oil before (dealership does it free don’t judge haha) or even changed my brakes. All I’ve done is engine and cabin air filters. So, no real experience. I’d say if you enjoy your jeep and can read at a 3rd grade level you should install yourself. Save money and annoy your friends and family talking about how you lifted your jeep yourself, 2 birds 1 stone :)
It's an overall great product, if your looking for more street daily and mild off roading this is the perfect setup to go with, still attains good gas mileage and great handling
My dad and I had it completely installed from box opening to finish in less than 5 hours. I put some Rubicon Express quick sway bar disconnects and it performed like a champ. I took a crawling in the rain the next day so without traction it took a real beating and held up great!
I am a 50 year old business man with decent mechanical skills and I have a normal set of tools. I installed this kit in about 6 hours by myself. I took my time and made sure to follow all directions and to loosen all bushings. I think this is important. I wanted to make sure everything was correct to avoid any issues. Rear was more difficult, but easier to get the spring out. I raised frame about 2" using jack stands, and put a jack under diff. To get extra space, I used another jack to raise the opposite side of the axle. For the front, I had to raise the frame another 2 inches to get the spring out (I had the axle as low as possible. New springs are only about 1" taller, and getting them around the longer bump stops in the front was a challenge. All parts were top quality. Good instructions, and don't forget to remove the front brake line bracket during install. It goes back in the same place after install.
This was easy enough for this programmer to install. I do have air tools and I'm mechanically inclined, but I'm not a mechanic. This lift gives you what you need to get lifted on a budget. If you want to replace the OEM shocks later you can. If you want to add quick disconnects later you can. Spring spacers only get you so far, the coil springs are the important part to get in place.
I put this on my dd which I also take off-road, haven't hit the trails with it yet, but as a road system it is performing really well. Once my tires come in I'll let yall know about trail ride. The only con was that the instruction manual was for one of the older versions of this lift and now I have an extra hole in my jeep
I installed the tf 2.5 lift in about 6 hrs with a buddies help, the shock extensions were very well built and allowed me to use my almost new rubicon shocks. The rear track bar relocation bracket was the most difficult part of the whole lift, but it's a tight fit and very strong. This lift looks very good, I'm running stock bfg's that look good until I can get new tires. There was no rubbing with the stock wheels and tires, had new rims with a 4.75 backspace installed anyway, good company, will buy teraflex products again
I installed this lift by myself in my garage in about 10 hours. I'm no mechanic and wasn't sure if I should even try it, but it was no problem.
I was so excited when my 2.5" Teraflex Coil Spring Lift with Shocks came in the mail! Overall it is a great lift. A couple of friends and I were able to install it by ourselves. It took the whole 7 hours, but it was fairly easy work. I have not experienced any problems with the lift. The ride is really smooth; just as good, if not better than the stock ride. I would highly recommend this lift! It is perfect for the offroad enthusiasts wanting a quality lift without having to empty your wallet!
Installed on a 11 Rubi U. Everything was a breeze except the track bar mount extension. Even the instructions said it would be a pain. BFH made it go.
Definitely run the Bilstein 5100 shocks and purchase an adjustable trac bar to center the front axle in the frame! Kit allows a 35" tire or 37" with flat fenders.
Great kit does what it says it will. Installation manual is worthless.
Lift looks and performs great , jeep sets perfectly level . Recomend adding geometry correction brackets and possibly adjustable front track arm
