Reviews: Smittybilt XRC Gen2 Front Bumpers

I just installed this last night on my 2014 Rubicon Unlimited. The bumper was a perfect fit. I installed a Warn Zeon 10-S winch in it. I had to use my cut off wheel to knotch out the end plates that are welded on the Jeeps frame and relocate the vacuum pump to be bolted under mounting bracket to have clearance for the winch. Would have been nice to have those instructions prior to installing the bumper as I had to remove bumper and winch several times to get everything to fit together. Overall looks great, now it's time for some wheeling.

Compact, great wheel clearance, really durable, excellent design, and top notch build quality. This bumper is going to outlast the Jeep.

This bumper is fantastic! Looks so much better in person, I would definitely recommend. The staff at 4 Wheel Parts did a outstanding job installing.

Make sure you have help and review install videos. Instruction sheet leave you with questions.

Love the bumper and winch. I didn't have time to inspect the bumper at the the 4W parts shop but once I got home I realized that there was a dent in it. I was not happy that they didn't notice it when it was being installed. Other than that I am happy with it

I would say a very heavy bumper with marginally acceptable install instruction. Many parts left over making you wonder what you forgot. The lower frame mount brackets had me stumped but finally figured it out. The tiny Allen screws for the fog lights are horrible for guys with big mitts. I also think the top bar would have been way cleaner without light brackets.

Great looking bumper, it is on the heavy side. I had to grind about 1/4 inch off the right side where the winch touches in order to fit my Warn 9.5 TI winch. I have read other reviews online where this is the case on other Warn winches as well. It was easy to take care of and in no way would it make me regret this purchase. Great Bumper for the money.

This bumper is built strong, will handle everything I throw at it! Was pretty straight forward to install. My only complaint is that the packaging is complete garbage. (At least mine was) the box showed up with pretty much half of the bumper hanging out of the side. But fortunately it seems like smittybuilt has some good powder coating very minimal damage, just needs a little touch up on two small places.

Good looking bumper, packs a lot of features for the price. Install wasn't as easy as advertised, instructions don't entirely match reality, I had a few leftover parts that had me wondering... looking forward to getting on the trail with it and see how it performs. Driving curvy mountain roads, I can feel the extra weight.

I purchased this bumper after shopping around for one that would fit my off-reading life style. It is robust, easy to install, gave plenty of air to the radiator while handling a 9500 lb Smitty built winch, and used the stock fog lights. I have a 2020 JLU with diesel and it and the winch dropped the front end down 1? on stock suspension. The 3/16? plate might be a bit of overkill. Good clearance and reasonably good protection.

For Hard Rock and Recon edition JKU's, be aware your OEM fog lights will not work with this bumper, they have different mounting points. You will need to find a pair that fit a standard JKU.

Love the look and the texture. It sticks out a little further than expected However, It's very sturdy, rock solid material.
