The appearance is nice, and is worth the money hands down. The directions aren't written well but are well enough to get it done.

I used this product on my JK to mount a 35" spare. Very easy to install and works great. Lock point for pad lock works well. Tailgate works easy with tire mounted.

This carrier is well priced, easy to install, and does what it needs too. I dont consider it a long term solution however. The entire weight of the spare and the carrier is being held by the tailgate. It does carry the tire very close to the tailgate and there are no rattles. I dont see any issues with it in the next year or two.

I bought this for my wife's 12 JK. She has a pretty heavy wheel and tire combo (120lb). The stock carrier wasn't up to the task of supporting the weight. This carrier pulls the tire closer to the body and helps keep the tire from shaking up and down. Been pretty pleased with it so far. My only issue was that the instructions in the box were incomplete. I had to go to the smittybilt site to get the full direction.

It works

Bought this mount when I upgraded wheels and tires. My factory spare tire carrier would not allow me to mount my aftermarket wheel and 35" tire. Have had the product for a month now and no problems. Allows me to carry my full size spare and the various mounting heights allowed me to adjust it to my specs.
