Reviews: Smittybilt Extended Tops

I got the Smittybilt safari top for my 1992 Jeep Wrangler. I only had to install a channel on the front of my windshield as I have a hard top on the Jeep in the winter. There were already holes there for the screws. The top installed very easily with no tools required. Just a little patience to figure out where all the straps hooked on. I'm very happy with this top.

Having moved to Arizona from Virginia, I wanted to take full advantage of the open air with the Jeep. We didn't like the sun beating down on us all day, so the Extended Brief Top was the solution now everyone is happy and protected from the sun, including the dog who rides in the back. Jason

This mesh top really blocks out the heat while letting the air flow in. The air flow is reduced a little, but you can tell a significant difference in the heat from the direct sunlight. I live in the south where it gets really hot. If I leave the top down the black center console will burn my arm. With this mesh top the center consule only gets hot, instead of melting.

Easy install,great fit. Cuts down on glare. Cooler interior. Cuts down on wind noise. Poor instructions. Installed with the Smittybilt header.

Quality material

Though I put it in with out any help, and extra hand would have been nice just to get the bikini top started. Other than that, I am completely happy with this product

My Smittybilt Extended top is great for that open air feel while still getting protection from the elements.

Great addition to the Jeep. Relatively inexpensive e and fairly easy to install. Well worth the money. It will make the Jeep much more useable and looks great. I have removed the window surrounds but left the roll bar padding which worked fine. I do have the sound bar on the Jeep. I had to remove one side in order to install the center strap over the roll bar. The strap was not long enough to go around the sound bar.

put this on my 2004 LJ. Been out on a few trips, its not a daily driver, but so far so good. I like the functionality and the look. Easy instalation and quality seems good. At this point I would recommend, or buy another one myself.

I am very impressed with the Smitty built extended top. It was very easy to install, very well made, quieter than expected, and looks great!

Used once but top definitely exceeded my expectations, you do have to buy the additional part if your jeep only comes with a hard top

Great fit. Tried the rear straps with the hooks, but loosened at highway speeds. Changed to, wrap around the seat-belt mount and worked much better. There is still flapping at the rear above 50mph, would be nice if there was a header.
