Reviews: Rancho RS9000XL Shocks

Decided to upgrade shocks after the extremely stiff ride with the rubicon express 2" lift. Installed in 15 minutes per side. The jeep is a new vehicle ride is like stock on the soft settings and sporty with the shocks dailed stiff. As expected with a good shock.

I bought these for about half what everyone else was charging. It took a while for them to come in as the were on back order. I installed them myself and I recommend you take the wheels off for better access. Install took about 20 minutes per shock. Very impressed with the flexibility in ride firmness from marshmallow soft to bone jarring firm. I like it toward the middle. Easy to adjust all of them in under a minute. The best thing: Ranchos are made in the USA!

Had some trouble getting them into the bottom shock mounts. Had to widen the mounts with some heating and bending.

I bought these for my 2007 nissan frontier old shocks were bad and with these rancho shocks it makes the ride very comfortable especially off-roading and going over bumps

I replaced a set of super lift shocks that came with a a lift kit for my JK with these Rancho 9000s. What a difference these made. Night and day. Set them on setting 2 and took the jarring and harshness out of the ride almost completely. Enjoyable to drive now. Still a Jeep but much better. Sure there are better shocks for a much higher price but for the money, these are great!

I bought a set of these Rancho 9000 shocks to replace my super lift shocks that came with the Super Lift suspension. Wow what a difference these Rancho 9000 made. It’s night and day difference. I set them at 2 and very soft pleasant ride. No more bone jarring ride from my Jeep! I was skeptical at first but a game changer for me. I know there are better shocks out there if willing to spend thousands of dollars but for the money, you can’t beat these Rancho 9000.

I love my Rancho RS9000XL Adjustable Struts/shocks with one exception! The adjustment knobs continue to break. At first this was a big deal as the knob broke when airing up following an off road adventure. So i had to drive home in the soft setting. I now keep 4 replacement adjustment knobs in the truck at all times. It is so simple to replace. 2 allen screws, a little 3in1 oil, and some axle grease before installing the replacements and these are good to go for more adventures. Love them.

They fit in my lifted 03 Astro AWD . Had do do some notching where bump stops are mounted to get them some breathing room but so far so good with fit up. I’ll see how they perform in the coming months.

Love the new struts! I recently purchased a 2018 Chevy silverado 1500 4x4 with 60k miles. I use it for hauling motorcycles so I do quite a few miles a day & wanted to smooth out the ride. The stock ones seemed pretty soft & after replacing them with the rs9000's in the front, it was a very noticeable difference. The front end is much more firm, set about 3 clicks out from full stiff. Stock Chevy Rancho's on the rear. Paid a mechanic to install. Love 'em!

Nothing to complain about, I only wish there were some kind of indicator for the level of suspension. I saw other people that got a adjusting knob but I didn't get one.
