The lift was kinda a harder lift to install compared to ones I’ve done in the past but it turned out amazing was a lot of rivets that needed to be cut off and holes drilled in the frame but the look of the new radius arms painted suspension and framed turned out better than expected
With the right tools and an extra set of hands this kit is easy to install. I hope ProComp starts making this kit again!
We installed the pro comp lift in 1996, still have the truck, only had to weld one piece of this lift all these years. Came back looking to replace the shocks, yes the shocks also lasted 24 years.
I have a 1988 Ford F-150 going to put a 4 inch lift kit in it call 4wp it took a couple months to get the kit they did a good job San Jose store keep going
Items were as described and reasonably priced, shipping very slow, almost two months to receive all items. Also the freight company used was horrible, had to meet company three times in town because they did not want to drive down driveway
All in all this was a good lift. I was a little disappointed because it was about 3 1/2 inches not 4. I also had to order 2 more shocks because I had dual front shocks and it did not come with them even though they said it would. Very pleased
Great Product from Pro-Comp. Have Only had kit installed one week but so far it has been great. Running Nitto Trail Grappler M/T's, 37-12.50-20 on Crave off-road Wheels. I will be going out to West Texas in December and will do some off-roading then.
Have had zero problems with the kit and a set of ProComp 37.0/12.5/17's on my 2005 Dodge even with towing my camper and racecar!I did add a set of airbags though just to be able to level different things I tow. Truck gets more attention than our collector cars!
I installed the lift almost two months ago and have been fairly impressed as of yet. The lift wasn't too difficult to install for someone with no suspension experience but plenty of basic mechanical (not auto specific) skills. The instructions could have been more detailed, but they got the job done with some trial and error. The sway bar disconnects proved to be quite useless compared to a better quality disconnect. I opted to use what was already installed on my jeep. The new ride quality was instantly apparent but still very stiff on the MX-6 softest setting. Other riders still prefer my ride quality to their jeep ride quality. Plus it looks great with the 33x12.5 on 15x10s.
Had this kit installed at 4 Wheel Parts with a detachable antisway bar. Kit was recommended by the manager. This is a great combo. With the sway bar attached, the Jeep handles great on the street. Pop the pins and detach the sway bar, and the wheel travel is excellent. Tackled a short Category 5 trail in Death Valley with no problem whatsoever. Overall a nice compromize between price and performance.
The instructions were definitely not written for non-mechanics. I had a mechanic friend help me install the lift. Once installed, I was definitely pleased with the results. Definitely worth the money. There was some modifications made to the frame to add a bracket to the front. It required drilling a couple of large holes in the frame. There is no way this could have been installed in my driveway, especially with a decent selection of tools I have. It required tools / bits that most normal shade tree mechanics would not have.
