Reviews: POP N lock Manual Tailgate Locks

I have taking the cap off my truck and putting on a Toro, I realize the tailgate didn’t lock now the search for the lock began finding four wheel parts. I found the lock that works great on my truck so now my tailgate is secure easy to install, and gives me some security.

Installation was a little tricky. With some patience, it will work. Luckily, I did not have to modify the lock at all. I do recommend using a different screw. The one in the box is a one way screw and cannot be loosend. Great for security, but can be a pain if your tailgate latch inevitably fails. I also recommend replacing your plastic tailgate clips as they can become brittle and break. They can be a hassle to replace once your tailgate lock is installed, especially with the factory screw. Overall, the lock seems to be very solid. It looks almost factory as well. Can't complain much. 👍

Installed on a 1993 Toyota Pickup. Fits perfectly. Install was easy. I didn’t see any issues with it. Locks and unlocks easily. Exactly what I needed. If you’re looking for the ability to lock your tailgate, this’ll work perfectly for you.

The tailgate hand fits great and it functions very well. Had know problem installing it.

I have an aftermarket metal handle for my 2010 Ford Ranger XL. This product will fit it with modification to both the lock and the tailgate. If you want something that is plug and play with a metal handle, look elsewhere. Besides that, the lock performs well. I don’t have any issues with it yet but I’ve only had it for one month or so.

Had to modify the tailgate and rods to make it work, but it does the job.

I was a little worried because the package said if fits 98 and later Toyota pickups, but it fit my 1991 with no problem. Installation was fairly simple. Only small problem was the rubber gasket didn't fit exactly. I trimmed. Think it will be ok or I will apply silicone or something.
