Reviews: Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust Systems

4 Wheel Parts offered competitive pricing and fairly quick delivery. The Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust System was installed on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon to replace a now worn out AFE exhaust. Important to note that this is not a bolt on system and some modifications had to be made. Funny how Flowmaster said this would fit both a 2 door and a 4 door Jeep, system was not exactly long enough for the 4 door. After everything was properly configured, this new exhaust sounds great and the Jeep is performing well!

Installed at the 4WP Houston Westheimer location. Did a great job. Has a nice gurgle from 0-3000 rpm, with it mellowing out in the higher rev range. So around town, it sounds like I'm riding an old school mustang. Straight out the back. 2017 F150, XLT, RWD.

My review is not in regards to the product but for the website and company 4wheelparts who let me order online gave a ship and delivery date but weeks later sent me an email stating this items is not in stock. Really? Bad customer service and online system.

Instructions could of been written better with what pipes go with standard short and long bed trucks. Other than figuring than out it went together good. I love the deep sound.

Extremely easy install and really happy with the clearance and sound output! It’s not too loud or droning in the cabin, but outside you can get a few heads turning after flooring it!

I was very nervous about purchasing a new exhaust system for my 2011 JK Six Speed manual. I Did a lot of research and this system the American Thunder series fit all categories for me. I spent it and now I'm *#!$ing enjoying it.. 100% worth the money, felt a Huge power increase right after install. Throttle feed was much more sensitive to what stock offered so I could feel the jeep going up hills faster in 4th gear requiring lest RPM then stock.. THE SOUND... Was just what I wanted giving the Jeep some attitude on the road and that minuscule satisfaction of grumble I love as my everyday driver..

The exhaust sounds great. The install took less than one hour. However, the removal of your old exhaust sucks. Take my advice: take your keep to a muffler shop and have them remove it. It’s not worth the time and effort to remove yourself. Reuse the rubber hangers. A couple of YouTube videos make the install easy.

Easy install, great sound. Not too loud, but not quiet either. Got rid of the muffler which was getting roughed up on rocks.

Used this to replace a banks system that had developed a internal rattle in the muffler, sounds lower and not overly loud but not too quiet. Best routing of a cat back system I?ve seen, everything kept above frame rails

Hardest part about putting this system on was getting the stock system off. Eventually had to chop it off with the sazall after trying for 2 hours to save it. Even with only 8k miles on a brand new truck it was still a major pain. System went on in about 30 minutes or so. We dry fit it all before tightening the clamps. Everything fit perfect, only thing that was weird was you had to cut down one section of pipe for your type of body style. Tips were perfectly level and came out in the exact same spot on each side. Sound is perfect for me. Nice and throaty down low and at idle with a raspy sound in the upper RPMs but is nice and quiet on the highway with just a little bit of drone if you are going over 65. This was installed on a '12 Ram Power Wagon and it fit with no issues.

This exhaust system is amazing on my 2003 5.3l chevy tahoe. It looks great, sounds great, and functions perfectly. For the price, you can't beat it. GREAT VALUE
