Hook isolator

I think these are awesome. I have one on my truck and jeep. Keeps winch hook neatly stored till you need it, and doubles as a line dampener when line is in use.

Daystar Keeps your Winch Cinched!

Keeping your winch hook safe and secure is easy with the Daystar Hawse Fairlead Isolator. It works as a nice safety feature to drop the winch line, should it ever snap. Simply install, cinch, and enjoy!

Great product

I had read the earlier reviews that indicated some people's hook did not lay flat in this isolator. I have a Warn M8000, with the stock hook. The hook sort of snaps onto the plug in the isoloator, so it's perfectly secure, and definitely lays flat. In fact I have my front license plate mounted using the Mag-Lite brackets (a fairly common method) and it works perfectly with that, except that I had to grind away a bit from each lower corner of the isolator, so the clips had room to clear; since the isolator fills the space between the fairlead rollers.

Use with my Warn VR8000 and roller fairlead. Fits perfectly, does what it advertises. Good stuff!

Best way to keep winch line tight

Solid and holds the tow hook in place. Takes some effort to get it in place, but the tight fit keeps it in position

Very handy

Keeps winch cable hook in place and not resting on fairlead roller.

It's on the hook

Holds the hook without cable wear or rubbing on other parts, the hook doesn't sit quite as flat as it is shown in the picture, allows use of D rings etc. without moving the hook out of the way. Installs in a couple of minutes, the hook needs to be taken off and the cable is inserted through the isolator but the isolator does not need to be removed to use the winch.

Great Piece of equipment

I use this product on my Mile Marker on a 1989 Cherokee it keeps the winch hook from flopping around and keeps it tight when not in use. You can also use it for a winch line weight.

"Works Great and would purchase again"

No issues and works great. Keeps you from crimping your cable off to side and prevents extra rattle wear on roller bushings. Had to trim upper corners for ARB bumper but not a problem.

Glad to have purchased

Keeps hook from rattling and is excellent for using as a weight on winch line.

It does the job just fine

This is actually a good product and it does the job of keeping metal parts away from each other. It eliminates rattles and noise, may also work as a weight on the winch line if it were to snap, although I haven't had that experience... and don't want to! Only thing that keeps it from being a 5-star product is that the design doesn't force the hook to stay perfectly flush (as the pictures would indicate) and the hook actually sticks out about 15 degrees. Not a big deal really but if you ever thought of using a fairlead mounted license plate holder, forget about it.
