NO MORE HOOD LIFT!!

Easy install. I did it without removing the stock hood latches. I was able to disassemble and reassemble while still on the Jeep. NO MORE HOOD LIFT/FLUTTER!

They clamp down like gator jaws!

These Daystar HD Hood Latches are just that...Heavy Duty. At first I was a bit unsure that I'd be able to get the hood closed but no fear. I am glad to say that hood flutter on my JK is a thing of the past. Get these. I seriously doubt you will be sorry that you did. I plan to get them for my daughter's JK too.

Get Them If You Don't Have Them

I removed my hood latch spring hoping to get rid of hood flutter. While it improved, it did not completely remove it. Adding the Hood Wranglers has dramatically improved my hood flutter. The latches are very durable. The only reason I said they were difficult to install was due to the lack of room to get to the nuts. Once the the hood latch system is removed, the latches are easy to install.

Good Product, Bad Instructions

The product does exactly what it is intended to do, but the instructions need to be redone. The instructions indicate you should try to snap off the heads of the old pins. This worked OK, with slight marring on one, but I ended up breaking an inside support ridge on the 2nd latch. I found out after the fact that there are You Tube videos dedicated to the correct method which involves using snips to cut the old rubber out and then cutting the plastic covering over the pin. That worked like a champ on the replacement latch I had to buy from the dealer.

What they should have been to start with

After experiencing some severe hood flutter I installed a set and now confidence has been restored.

They work as advertised

When driving into a head wind, the factory latches allowed so much hood movement it made one pull over to check out the latches. The Daystar Hood Latch replacement offerd 110% improvemnt. No hood movement at all. Nice.

Very effective

I really like the total elimination of the hood flutter of my Daystar hood latches. But they are a bit to tight in my mind. The hood flutter could have still been eliminated without over tightening. An 1/8 in longer strap would have been nice I think.

Wrangled my Wrangler

Good product. Fairly easy to install, save the fact that once on it is much harder to latch the hood. It seems to do it's intended job very well though. I no longer have "hood flutter", and have even noticed a slight improvement in fuel economy, due to increased aerodynamics.
