Reviews: Dana Spicer Heavy Duty Axle U-Joints

This was a dream after using joints from a local shop. Even though they said it was the correct part, I had to grind down the spiders to fit. No wonder those joints failed. I checked the meaurements given, and yep, Dana Spicer is the way to go. One tip, be very careful putting the caps on. The needle bearings may get dislodged and prevent the cap from seating completely. I actually destroyed one cap trying to force it. A new joint after discovering my error, and all was fine.

Replaced the front axle u-joints in my Jeep Wrangler with these because Spicer is the best and I want to be able to depend on my Jeep whether on the trails or daily driving.

These were replacing stock axle joints so the performance difference was immediate!!

Make sure you have the right tools before you start this install or it could be rather time consuming! A bench vise, press, and heavy hammer are highly recommended. Use safety glasses!!!

Perfect fit I personally add a little wheel bearing grease to caps when installing . In my 40 years of being a mechanic I have always requested spicer when purchasing u-joints

I upgraded front and rear differentials on my '97 sport TJ. A pair of D44 from a '03 TJ Rubicon were installed on it, but the yoke size on the D44 from the Rubicon are bigger. after a little research, I found this converter that solved my problem!! These converters helped me to connect both original Drive shafts without any issue, after reduced 1.5" on rear shaft and 2.5" on front shaft, the TJ is on the road again!!! ready for the trail!!! Good Jeeping to every one!!!!

My descriptions of the problem were sort of vague but they correctly identified the two parts I needed, they fit, and the problem was solved. Does it get much better than that?
