Bolted right up to my 2014 second gen suprised they don’t list them that way
The sliders have a clean look and looks like they belong on the truck. They are definitely well built and seem like they will hold up. The downside is they are heavy. I could feel the extra weight though, I’m sure that won’t help the mpg any.
These make great sliders for your Tacoma! These heavy and rugged sliders will add the protection needed when hitting the trails. Their sleek design integrates nicely into the overall body design and provides an OEM look. While these are 100% bolt-on, there in an additional option to drill into the frame for additional strength at two locations for each slider. Only downside is their weight, as these are DOM heavy steel weighing in at a stout 186lbs for the set, about 93lbs each. Installation is a pain, as the instructions suck. I think 4WP needs to create an installation video to make everyone's life easier.
Love the look of these sliders. Nice low profile. Very happy with my purchase.
These are great sliders, I was very impressed with the ease of install. I did the first one alone and it went fine. Instructions were good but not great but if you are installing yourself, you should be mechanically savvy and should be able to do without. First trip out, I had to use one to pivot my truck and they held up extremely well!
Install took me a couple hours by myself switch a jack and some jack stands. The directions were pretty easy to follow. I like the look of these vs most of the others on the market.
bought this for my 2019 tacoma and couldnt be happier! didnt take long to install and was surprised on how slick it looks on the truck. very low profile!
Product was very easy to install. Install time with 2nd person was about 2hrs. Welds were very clean. Top plate is very strong and doubles as a side step to get into the truck. Color matches very well with Cement Tacoma.
I have to say I love the fit and finish on these sliders. The paint to match plate in the end is a nice opportunity for a little customization. Sleek look, fits tight to the body and install wasn’t too bad. Only 4 stars because these bois is heavy, and there is a rattle from metal inside of the steps that is designed to support the accent plates. Otherwise these things look great and will perform well on the trail. No hi-lift jack points but if you have a hi-lift recovery kit you could probably make it work.
Sliders arrived packaged well. Pretty easy to install if you have a floor jack to hold the weight. They are beefy. Really like the overall design. Looks great on my truck. Only critique I have so far would be that the “inserts” at the rear of the sliders need some rethinking. At certain low rpm’s they developed a vibration and create an aggravating sound. Next time I take my rear tires off I’m going to try to find a way to deaden the sound.
Seem to be built well and feel solid. We’ll see how they holds up on the trail. I gave the sliders 4 stars because the installation instructions were a bit hard to follow. Overall, very happy with them so far.
I bought these at the Ontario Show for my 18 Tacoma. Installed myself using some jack stands, floor jack and my rolling chair. Much easier if you have two people. Designed to bolt right up unless you add the two bolts to the frame to make it HD as it says in there install. You have to drill for those. Driver side there is a bracket that you replace to give you bigger studs. Those holes did not align super well; had to do some clearancing. The directions were missing a step about having to unclip the big wire loom at the front of the cab before mounting. The mounts in the frame have T handles on them to use to adjust easier for alignment with bolting. You will probably want a pair of vise grip plier for the front one inside the frame to hold it. Just was not quite long enough to hold and see what you are doing. The passenger side was easier. Missing a step in the directions for one of the brackets that gives you a stud for bolting through an existing hole in the frame at mid cab. Other wise I would say you will need a floor jack to manipulate the slider for hole alignment.
