Awesome Grille Guard

I bought this a back in May of 2011 for my 1988 Jeep Comanche and decided its time for a review. I bought the Grille Guard Center, Winch Carrier, and Brush Guards all together. Installing the grille guard was easy, and required some drilling to the frame and the guard it self. The winch carrier is very sturdy, and has not bent or moved while using the 8K winch. The only issue i have had is the finish on the Grille guard center was starting to flake off, but some black paint makes it look new again.

I would recommend this product to anyone

Very nice grill guard. Heavy duty and designed perfectly.

Well made

I actually installed this on an 01 Yukon even though Warn lists a different part number for my vehicle. I think the only difference is the headlight guards that attach to the main unit which I did not purchase. Anyway, the mounting brackets are 1/4" steel and well engineered as are the uprights. The tubes on the other hand are flimsy .065" wall tubing. I wanted something heavier so I replaced both tubes with 1/4" wall tubing and welded them in place. This added a few pounds but I felt the added rigidity was well worth it. I replaced all of the nuts & bolts with 304 stainless because I didn't want to have to worry about rust. I also had to cut notches in the bumper so the upper brackets could fit between the grille and the bumper. This was no big deal and the notches are out of sight so the install looks clean. The instructions were clear and I'm happy with the product. Installation took about 6 hours by myself. I would have given 5 stars were it not for the thin walled tubing that bolted between the uprights.

Our grill guard

It is rather ugly but we needeed it to hold our lights . To bad they do;t have anything better for old style trucks of the 90's ours did not have the cross bar's .
