bomb-proof tire, excellent grip

- I have the Toyo Open Country M/T 33" 12.5/15 on a lifed toyota FJ 60 with a chevy LS motor. After 1000 miles, the tires finally bedded in, but be advised if you are running a 8" rim they will crown and it will take a bit of tire pressure experiementing to get the tires to sit right. Or you could do what I did, dial up 30 psi, and wait for them to wear in. They were squirrly for the first few hundred miles, but now they are rock solid. - Grip is top notch. Yes, there is some hydroplane, but that is to be expected in a large and wide off road tire. I'd say that their wet performance is better than most M/T's on the market thanks to deep sipes. Those sipes also open up on rocks and hard-pack dirt to give tons of grip. This tire is awesome in the sand and mud. From time to time I'll see how far I can go in 2wd without getting stuck. Much further than my friends with other branded (same size) tires. I HAVE NOT taken them in the snow/ice, so I can't judge them there. - There is road noise, but it isn't any worse than a comprable mud tires. - These tires are definitely on the big/wide side of a 33"x12.5. My measurements have them about a 1/2 inch bigger from sidewall to sidewall (12.5" contact patch, but about 13" of tire width) and it may rub in some applicaions. I required spacers to after install to keep the paint on my inner fenders at full articulation. Last word is that these tires are awesome. Stout, strong, grip, and tough. I'll definitely stick with them and buy them again.

Great tire

ive had a set on my 2001 4x4 lifted Ranger since feb 2010 and im very impressed. only thing i see as an issue is they like to hold on to small pieces of gravel like an AT would in the center of the tread. it can get annoying on the paved roads to say the least. as far as traction ive had my ranger on a 4 inch superlift buried to the doors in South Georgia and South Carolina mud and still be able to get out no problems. and im still running open diffs. in my opinion the 33s look a bit small after 4 inches of lift. plus ive got plans for a body lift so 35's or 37s are in the works for the next time i need tires but im definantly going to the Toyo open country MT
