Amazing product, easy to install and gets the job done perfectly. No need to buy an expensive after market bumper. Just slap it on. So easy to do. it looks clean and more imporantly is solid. No more creaking, no more fear of opening my tailgate. I could not be happier.

I purchased a 2012 Wrangler off the showroom floor at a dealer who added large after-market tires and wheels as well as a MOPAR parts lift kit. The heavy weight of the large wheels/tires caused the spare on the rear gate with weak OEM hinges to rattle constantly on the pot-hole ridden streets of metro Wash, DC, to the extent that I was going nuts, This is a solid piece of engineering which totally solves that problem. It is very easy to install as long as you read the instructions carefully. They are very good BTW and very detailed. Installation looks obvious, but it does require removing both factory hinges (10 bolts), and it is essential that you follow the instructions about leaving bolts slightly loose until everything is lined up properly when all bolts are installed. Wood blocks cut to the right thickness between gate and bumper to preserve the gate alignment are also a must. But, it really is very simple to install, and I'm not a talented do it your-selfer, but did it in less than 90 minutes once I had all tools and supplies at the ready. Read the instructions several times and follow every step, and it will install perfectly. My Jeep is completely rattle-free for the first time! I couldn't be more delighted with this product, which is worth every penny.

After getting larger tires (who doesn't!) I needed something to carry the spare. I wanted it on the back to balance the rig and the look. I tried 3 different swing-away models which worked but, by design they could not stop flopping around on rough roads because of the distance from the rig. I had good swing-away latches that held strong and didn't rattle, but the tire is simply too heavy to stay still when mounted to any swing-away style. I worried that eventually they would start to wiggle themselves apart. When TeraFlex came up with this model, I knew they finally had what I needed. I ordered it when it first became available and it has no signs or sounds of ANY movement whatsoever. I don't even think about it anymore, except how great it makes my Rubicon look. Great product and does everything I ask of it... Finish is nice on item and it fit like a glove...

Had a lot of rattling from my oversized spare. This fixed all my problems. Everything is rock solid now. A little fiddly to get adjusted just right, but very well worth the effort. No more rattle and no more worrying about when my tailgate was going to get damaged.

Easy to install and does the job for 37s on the back of the jeep!

Have owned three JKU’s (‘12 Sport, ‘17 Rubicon Recon, ‘17 Sport) and when I first put a 285/70/17 on my ‘12 tailgate, I quickly damaged the hinge. Then I got my Rubi with the steel bumpers and didn’t want to “downgrade” to a different bumper/carrier combo like I have on my ‘97 TJ. This Teraflex Tire Carrier and hinge support works great to bear the weight of larger tires AND allow you to use whatever bumper you desire. There is also the added benefit of the new hinge having a set stopping point upon opening, which also keeps you from blowing out that flimsy factory tailgate stop latch. I upgraded the third brake light also with the Teraflex brake light extension. Works like a charm and worth every penny!!!

This removed all the rattling from my rear tire. I should have done this years ago.

Bought this tire carrier to replace the previous owners rear bumper carrier that sagged and rattled. Holds my 37" Toyo M/T snug against the tailgate at the perfect height to optimize what is left of my rear window visibility. No rattles or sagging, easy one handed operation, and no need to open a carrier and the tailgate individually to get access to the back of my Jeep. One of my favorite purchases thus far.

While I had not desired to spend so much on a simple tire carrier, this is well worth its weight in gold. It is superior- solid as a rock, not a rattle in the rear, holds a 35" no problem, and easy to install. What is also nice is you may install any aftermarket bumper. The look is clean and the install is not too bad. I do wish it came with exact fit shims to put under the door at the price, but at any rate, I am extremely pleased. Recommended with 5 stars.

I bought this after buying 35" x 12.50" tires. I did not want to put that weight on the factory carrier, which I would implore all who read this, not to do as well. The factory carrier is quite inadaquate and this was the perfect upgrade. Very smooth and well built. This should be factory equipment.

No play at all with my 315/75/17 BFG. Fairly quick install. No issues.
