Reviews: Super Swamper 285/70R17LT Tire, IROK ND - IND-08

So, i wrote an awesome review and my phone ran out of batteries , hence deleting my review. So here goes the abridged version: I personally got everything I was after. I wanted the most offroadability (if that's a word) out of my 08 silverado 4x4, on a Budget! This meant a cheap 2" front level kit and a call to 4wd.com. My truck used to handle like a cadillac, now like a duece and a half! Its loud. The tires are almost as loud as the thrush muffler. When decelerating on an offramp, they are louder. To some people this is bad, not so for me. What these tires offer in return is much greater than any noise I can do without. I off road my truck. This does not mean I'm taking it over bouders or getting it into body panel crunching scenarios. It does mean my truck sees a lot of muddy paths (if you want to call them that) and even a bit of snow every year. The snow is for the most part managable , however the mud can be like soup at times. I dont believe there is another more capable tire in 285/70 17 than the swamper irok nd for my needs. Weighing in at over 60lbs a piece, i really appreciated the free shipping. I was on a budget, needed a tire that can hack off road, and thanks to 4wd.com, I got exactly what i was after.

looks are decieving the pictures of these tires dont do them justice they arrived and i was like they are not that agressive looking then went and had them mounted whole nother story they really look good make my truck look like a truck after i had them mounted we had a bad thunder storm and they did great on wet pavement helped a friend on his farm same evening so everything was good and muddy and they cleaned out great they have a good hum going down the pavement but i like it they are swampers if you want quiet buy all terrains or highway tires

I have only driven about 200 miles with these on my 05 Sequoia Limited. All four balanced with no issues. They have a little hum on asphalt. They will reduce fuel mileage. I added a 3 inch level and these and have lost 3 mpg but that is not why i bought these tires. I'll try to update when i mile them out. 4wd had the best price i could find with free shipping.

I could not be happier, I thought I was going to have to go with a boring radial, after having procomps on my truck for years, nopt I get to keep the aggressive tread I am used to! Awesome deal, customer service was great and fast shipping.

i put these tires on my 2wd 2005 ford f150 and love them!! theyre great off road out on the trails and have caught myself in pouring rain in just slop mud and barely had to gas it and just almost creeped out up the hill! theyre loud on the interstate but thats expected but its not unbearable. they handle great and have put about 6-8k miles on them and they still look brand new. i have a 2.5 leveling kit and the tires raised my truck about a .75 to a full inch in height compared to my nitro terra grapplers. for the price you can't beat it!!

Great off road

I PUT 4 ON MY 2013 F150 WORK SO GOOD BOUGHT 4 MORE STILL WAITING FOR THEM. THEN I ORDERED 4 FOR 2002 WRANGLER. WILL PUT FOR HUNTING SEASON. THIS TIRE IS THE BEST DEAL FOR THE BUCK !

I installed these on my 2012 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited with 17X9 ProComp Rims all purchased here and I have to say I have used many different brands of off road tires in my life but these outperform them all! Excellent traction in forward and reverse! Very impressed with the low noise at all speeds on the pavement.. they are the quietest mud tire I have owned! Went on a mudding trip with all my buds 8 other jeeps in total and they were all amazed! The trails we were hitting had extensive mud/snow & ice and these tires performed excellent! Off road I air them down to 20psi and I couldn't believe what I could go through.... Thought I would have had to winch several times but they just kept pulling me through, all my 4X4 buds say these will be there next purchase! I could not be happier! They even fit my factory tire carrier with no mods needed! Plus they look great on the Jeep.

Haven't had them long, but I can tell these will be a great tire. They are a little on the heavy side. A little noisey but that is to be expected. As of right now they have only been on the street and some backroads with a few mud puddles. They do clean out very well.

I have had these tires on a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 that is daily driven (not always by me) for a little under a year now and I love them, however there are a couple small issues I would like to share my experience with. This is my first set of chunky off-road tires so I can't say if all tires share these characteristics but at highway speeds (60+ mph) these tires give a bit of a bouncy ride. Its not unbearable, it has definitely calmed down though as the tires have worn in. Another nit pick is that they are LOUD on the highway. I mean it sounds like an 18 wheeler if I'm next to the noise barrier on the highway. This is easily solved with turning up the radio so again, not that big of a deal. Overall, I would definitely recommend these tires, they give it a great look and stance. I have them mounted on Mickey Thompson Sidebiter IIs (put M/T90000019400 in the search bar above to get to them) and a 2.5 inch lift kit from another retailer I'm not allowed to disclose. I don't have any pictures right now, but I will upload them (If I can edit this review) later.
