Reviews: Smittybilt Winch Plate (Black) - 2803

Bolted up to my YJ with no problem. The only insignificant issue was that I needed a few spacers for the rear bolt holes, as the mounting surface of my bumper was a fraction of an inch higher than the mounting surface of my frame. I just used a few washers. My Smittybilt XRC Pro Comp 9.5 Winch mounted to this plate with no problems either.

Installed in about 5 minutes. Perfect fit to my Jeep's factory bumper. Thick, heavy steel makes a very sturdy platform to mount a winch. Only issue was that I had to uninstall it & bolt the winch to the plate & then reinstall it on the bumper. Could not access the winch mount bolts with the mount plate attached to the bumper.

Winch Plate fit good. Had to take off plastic guard that covers bar in front. Bolts that came with plate weren't the right size and not long enough.

I bought this winch plate knowing it would fit my Wrangler, but not my winch. I have a 5000# UTV winch and the bolt pattern is different than a standard truck/Jeep winch. I had to cut-off the portion of the plate with the tab that mounts the roller fairlead and drill new winch mounting holes. After some prudent planning and touch-up paint where I had to cut and drill, the plate excepted my winch. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Took about a day for the modifications and mechanical installation.

The plate went in like a glove , badda boom badda bing I had a winch mounted even though the box looked like it was dragged behind the truck and the mounting hardware was missing.......
