Great deal

After reading the reviews I was a bit worried about having to drop the gas tank to install the bumper. But once I actually started putting it on it was a cinch and using two extensions on a ratchet there was no need to drop the gas tank it all. Bumper is super sturdy and same with the tire carrier. I've had no issues with it rattling or coming undone like I've read on different reviews. And that includes having my spare tire and bicycle rack and bicycle on it.

Great Looking Bumper and very strong.

I installed this bumper today on my 2015 JKU. Install was easy, everything lined up perfectly. Instrictions said to drill the 4 center bolts out to 1/2", but when I stuck my drill up to the holes they were all at least 1/2" already. Had to slightly cut a small curvedpiece of the license plate bracket on the right side to let the bumper move up on that side enough to level it.

Looks great and installed easy

The complete removal and install was about 35min. The biggest thing is to make sure to drill the reciever bolt holes to 1/2. then the bolts slide right over the muffler and install easier. It looks great and will protect the body corners great.

Wont Go Wrong

I live in where deer and elk are on the road. The set offer great protection and sweet style. The price of adding a hitch and getting the tire off the door covers the price of setup. The noise is starting after breaking in and can be shimed out but i didn't buy a jeep because it is quiet! It has added stregth to my 06 LJ Rub.

Nice replacement!

I needed to replace my rear bumper with one wit a stronger hitch mount. does a good job and looks good too. I have a Tj that i run 33" tires, and my only issue is that the spare rubs a little on the top. If you have 35"s, you might want to opt for the bumper with swing out tire carrier.

Great Bumper for a low price

This is a good looking bumper for under $500.00. I installed it on my 2006 Rubicon and it took about 30-45 minuts to install. The only problem I had was I had to lower the gas tank to be able to tighten the inner 2 nuts and bolts.

Great fit

No problems mounting the bumper, i was able to do it by myself in under an hour using a floor jack to lift the bumper into place

Looks great, two man job to install

Took a long time to install and had to drill new holes into frame. Custom install. If you have a pole barn or garage with tools you shouldn't have any issues. This is not something you could install in an AutoZone parking lot. Looks great and very durable.

Quality leaves a bit to be desired.

Install took a little while as the bolts were difficult to line up. The support bracket for the swing arm is an afterthought at best. High brake light relocation is borderline useless and I left it off. Swing arm is difficult to open and close. It does rattle a fair bit. 4WD honored their pricing commitment. It looks really good and functions as promised. For the price I paid, it's pretty good.

Good Looking Bumper

This is a very good looking bumper, it was given to me by my wife as a present. Following the tips that I read on this website, I drilled the receiver holes out to 1/2". The only issue I had with it is the fact that the install was much harder and time consuming than what was stated in the instructions. After using every trick in the book to get the 8 bolt holes to line up; I was only able to get 6 bolts in the bumper. The two bolts on oppsite ends of the receiver mount had to be drilled out to complete the install. Another tip, go ahead and remove the muffler it will make the task easier.

Great Product.

This is a great bumper. Yes it does rattle a little bit. If you are interested in this type of thing your Jeep already has accessories on it that rattle. Its a Jeep. If you want something quiet buy a car. You are not a Jeep person. The tire carrier swing out is very stiff. That is a good thing. If it wasn't it would beat its self to death. It looks great a preforms just like it should. I only wish it came with a Smittybilt sticker. That's not a very big complaint. I recommend this bumper.

Fantastic bumper. I love the look. With that being said, here is the bad part... you have to drill 4 New holes and elongate 2 holes. You need a impact gun to pull it tight to the frame. Getting your hand behind the gas tank to start the nuts is no easy task. I used a magnet to get the washer and nut started. You also will need a spare tire reloaction bracket for 33 x 12.50 15's and bigger. I have new 33 12.50 15 goodyear dura tracs and the rear gate WILL not close without the extra bracket. The tire just rubs a little with the bracket. The bracket is about 40 bucks. still saves you about 170 v/s this bumper with the tire swing. My guess would be get the bumper with the tire swing if you are running something larger than a 33. Thanks SRC. Thanks 4WD!!

Good bumper

Assembled good and looks great. Had to adjust the locking mechanism but not a big deal. All in all a good bumper.

Solid bumper, worth the price

With some modification I made it fit my 2009 Subaru Forester. The overall build is really good, but it will rattle on the trails without some modification to the swing out arm.

Sturdy and nice looking but...

I like the bumper but it has some issues, first the product is shown as "Fit" into my 94 YJ, but the inner holes do not fit (I drilled holes on the support to install), second, the bolts provided are way too short, they can not hold the 3 washers and nut safely, thus I installed with only 2 washers and I'll probably need to replace them depending in how it looks with time.

Seems Solid

I received the bumper the next day! Fast shipping! But, the finish was badly damaged during shipping... the box was totally destroyed, but the hardware to install was in its own box stuck to the bumper... so I had all the correct bolts and washers. I do like the look this bumper provides. Be aware that most of the pictures of this bumper make it look like a full length unit... it is not. It is the perfect length to cover the body of the jeep only. It does not stick out past the sides(some pictures make it look as wide as the fenders on the jeep). I would recommend this bumper to anyone looking for a high clearance mid length bumper. I only gave 4 stars do to the damage done during shipping. I will need to do some touch up to the bumper in several places.

Great Bumper! Tricky Installation.

I mounted this unit on a 2012 JK 2 door and I am very pleased with the look of the bumper. After removing the fishing line float that Mopar calls a bumper, I lifted the Smittybilt unit into place with a motorcycle jack. If you don't have similar lifting equipment, I would seriously consider having a helper because this bumper is extremely heavy. There is very little tolerance either way in the bumper's construction so, getting it centered is not a problem. The issue that I encountered was the fact that the four holes in the bumper are not properly sized and will not align with the factory holes in the center of the JK's frame. After increasing the size of the openings in the frame, per the instructions, you will still have to adjust the size of the holes in the bumper by approximately 1/8 of an inch. Also, Smittybilt does not include a bracket for your factory trailer light plug. Otherwise, this is a beautiful bumper/tire carrier set up that serves it's purpose and compliments the look of the Jeep. I liked it enough to purchase the matching front bumper!
