Awesomeness!

Fog lights need spacers to fit flush with openings, but aside from that, the fit was perfect and really makes the jeep look tough. Super pleased with the outcome.

Highly recommend.

Very well made, easy install. I hung it by myself in about an hour and a half including removing to stock bumper.

Awesome Bumper!

Bought this for my 2012 jeep. Instructions not the greatest, but not hard to figure out. Its only 8 bolts. It was more difficult to take the factory bumper off than to put the new one on. Love it!

LOVE HIS BUMPER

2013 Wrangler JK Sport I chose this bumper because it provided the frontal protection I was looking for but yet reducing the weight. The GEN2 also provided the OEM fog lights to be mounted that the first one didn't. I readed the comments that were given by others and found that with the help on two friends the bumper and winch were a breezes to install. We did what was recommended and installed the winch (XRC 9.500 winch/syn rope)and flairhead on the bumper first . Recommended that you connect all the winch wiring first and route the wires close to the motor so they tuck in between the winch and grille, than mount the winch to the winch plate. The winch's rear mounting bolts were not easy to get too but openend wrench did the trick. We found no other issues with the OEM fog lights or Flairhead when assembling these parts to the bumper. It appears that these probloms encountered by others has been corrected. This process took us about 30 minutes to accomplish. As the bumper was lifted by two people (Really recommnd 2)and set into place the third person ran the winch wires up behind the grill and then screwed the bumper down and didn't find any holes that had to be rounded out. As with any project that requires wiring routing, it's the installer's choice as now you want to do it, all the wire leads reached the battery with enough slack. we accomplished this task in 45 minutes without any problems. I showed off the SRC GEN2 bumper at a trail ride with our 4 wheel drive club, and got many good comments on the the construction, full frontal protection of the tubes, unrestricted airflow to the radiator and solid D ring and jack points. It was pointed out that the triangler cutouts in the "D" rings will allow for a Hi-Lift jack to be inserted into them for storing the jack. Since I was doing the front bumper I ordered the Package deal of front and rear SRC GEN2 bumper. If you plan on doing this in your garage you WILL NEED a pickup truck to bring them home! I love this bumper as it affords me less weight than a full bumper but yet the protection, the lower mounting of the winch and airflow, bull bar for grill protection and aux light mounts, the design of the raised corners for entry & exit and last but no least "Its one AWSUME" looking bumper that says " I can hit a army tank and drive away".

Great product, looks good!

The bumper is easy to install, very well made, and looks greaton the Jeep! No mounting hardware, factory hardware is a different thread pitch, and the winch roller guide holes need to be drilled to1/2 inch.

Love it

Instructions were terrible. Couldn’t see anything in the pictures. It says to drill out 1/2” holes, but I recommend 5/8”. The 1/2” holes make for an extremely tight fit. You will need spacers to keep from hitting the grill ( I used the ones from the stock bumper and it worked good. about an hour and a half to install. Recommend 2 or more people due to the weight, haven’t mounted the winch yet...we’ll see how that goes. Would be nice to have a cover plate for the interim. If you have an aftermarket grill, you will have to remove the bumper to take the grill off.

Good looks and nice packaging.

I fell in love with this bumper's styling especially when compared to the 1st Gen JK SRC bumpers. Stock fog lamps do stick out a little bit past the bumper but still well behind the d-ring/jack points. I had issues mounting the outboard bolts as they were slightly low and too wide. I am not sure if it is due to the bumper or a front end crash I was in that was supposed to be fully repaired. The bolt holes on my 2012 bumper mounts were the correct diameter and likely do not need to be drilled as per the instructions but mine did require some modification to fit. You really should mount and torque your winch and install the fog lamps first as I did because the rear winch bolts are very hard to get at when it is mounted. A ratchet swivel and several different length extensions are required to reach most of the bolts if you do this. I was still able to torque the bumper mounting bolts to the correct spec. The skid plate support bolts that attach to front crash bar / cross member come pre-installed and must be removed before installing. I also purchased with a Smittybilt XRC 9500 winch. The winch fairlead roller mounting bolts were too big for the bumper holes, but I was able to find smaller diameter (M10) bolts the same grade at local hardware store. The nuts were hard to reach on the back but fit correctly and were tightened easily with a box end wrench for support. I removed my grill for winch wiring routing and while it was tight, I had no issues reinstalling it with the bumper installed. There is no place on this bumper to route off-road light wiring from the bull bar so you will have to get creative when mounting accessory lights. There are two holes on the top of the bumper and two mounting tabs on the bull bar for use on the top or bottom so there are plenty of options to mount lights. Time will tell if the finish is better than older Smittybilt products, but so far it looks very good. My only wish is that it provided some more protection to the Rubicon sway bar motor.

Awesome bumper, but...

Great looking aggressive style bumper. Excellent fit, great air flow to my radiator, even with the winch. My only problem with the bumper is how to mount it. If u put the winch in first you can't get to the inside frame bolts. If u mount the bumper and then put the winch in you can't get to the rear passenger side winch bolt. I had to remove my sway bar to get to the rear winch bolts. Secondly the fair lead is a tuff install do to the stock fog light brackets. Even with a s/b low profile far lead I had to drill out 4 holes because the center holes would not work because of said brackets. All in all I'm pleased with the bumper. If you are not mechanically inclined then it would be highly recommended that u let 4wheelparts do the install.
