Smittybuilt SRC gen 1 tubular doors

Heavier duty than I thought they’d be. Latching system is a little rough but functional.

Installed on a 2012 Rubicon

Nice fit, added mirrors on brackets provided and like 'em. Doors are heavy and feel secure with them.

Strong and Great Looking!

I bought these doors because when I take the doors off of my Jeep I fear for my son (5 years old) who sits in the back seat. I prefer having at least something between him and the road. And what is great about these doors is that they still give you that doors off feeling. The downside is that my wife struggles to open them and my son cannot. They are very hard to open and the bolt the handle screws onto bends making it even harder to open the doors. I added a plastic spacer (washer) between the handle and the door to prevent rubbing and this makes it a little easier to open. I still love these doors but I do wish they had taken more time during the design phase to work out a few of the kinks - namely the door latch issue. But I would still recommend them to a friend.

Glad I bought them!

- Require some initial assembly (30 minutes or 1 beer per door) - Feel safer than no doors with son in the back seat. - Difficult to open. My 5 yr old son cannot open them. My wife struggles with them. - The doors are very heavy (15 lbs - 20 lbs per door). I expected them to be lighter. - The bolt the handle screws onto bends easily and will bend with the force needed to open the doors. - I bought plastic washers to fit between the handle and the inside of the door to prevent friction and bending. - No locking nuts on the door hinge bolts. I recommend this upgrade. 10mm locking nuts 1.5mm threading. - Yes, there are some sacrifices you will have to make to use these doors (as mentioned above) but still I think they're worth the upgrade. - I didn't give 5 stars because of some missing hardware and some upgrades I felt were necessary for me to use them (all mentioned above).

Door fit perfect

Fit perfectly, just needed to get nuts for the hinge pin. Nuts in kit where not the right size.
