Reviews: Smittybilt Security Floor Consoles

Took me about 45 min. to install. I had no security at all. Now I feel a little better. This thing is 28 lbs.Of steel.Resonably secure lock if it is broken into I know the thieves had to work at it. It is a little long for a YJ I had to cut off cup holders. Really going to miss those. Would absolutely recommend this product.

Overall, seems to be a solid product. Fairly easy to install. The liner on the door seems to peel back slightly from opening and closing the door. I just used some superglue to keep the liner intact. Works good.

Some people said it was missing parts and others complained that it didn't fit. Mine however had all the parts and fits perfectly. It is awesome. I would highly recommend this product. I originally was going to build one exactly like the Tuffy model but seen this for considerably cheaper. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I have been reading reviews on this product for a while now. I was sceptical about buying since most all the reviews say it is too large or a tight fit in their Jeep. Today I went to 4wd parts store in Waipahu, HI and checked it out before I bought it. The sales persons was very helpful. After I saw the quality of this product I instantly bought it without anymore questions. It fits perfectly in my 1985 Jeep CJ 7 and I have a twin stick shifter there is plenty of room. Now take in mind it is bigger than the OEM console but not too big. The cup holder seems a little weak but if it fails it can be removed and some other cup holder put in its place. I would buy it again if I owned another CJ.

Well made, just what I wanted. Installation was a snap.

I looked at all the available consoles for my CJ5 and decided this was the best option. I wasn't disappointed. It's well made and provides plenty of secure storage.

Mounted this console in my K5 blazer so i would have a secure place to store some of my less used tools. i tested the cupholders the day i got the console, the spring mechanism doesnt provide enough or consistent pressure to hold the cups and cans i usually have, so 5 minutes with the angle grinder and that problem was solved. All in all i really like the console keeps things locked up like i wanted and added some extra storage space.
