Nice

These i'm not much better than the stock Rubicon ones. But they installed in less than 10 minutes on my lift. I would recommend these to a friend. And they look great but don't cover the body seem line on your jeep.

Heavy duty & great fit

I purchased these to replace the stock rockrails that came on my 2016 Unlimited Black Bear Edition. I had read other reviews that stated these were difficult to install and the instructions were not very clear. These were a breeze for my 13 year old son and I to install without the instructions ( found them under styrofoam in the box after both were already installed). Total install time - 5 minutes each side to remove stock rockrails & 5 -7 minutes each side to bolt on the new Smittybuilt rails. Lined right up & I put the nuts on the 4 bolts while my son held up each end. Tightened them up & good to go.

Looks great

Found rails were easy to install. A extra set of hands would be nice. It took me less then a half an hour. Looks great.

Perfect protection.

These things honestly saved my life from a drunk driver. I was driving with my doors off at night and was hit by an SUV directly at the door opening. Because I bolted them to the frame it kept the other car from entering the door area and hitting me in the hip/leg area at 50mph. I have now ordered them for my new jeep and would recommend them for any jeep owner, especially if you drive with the doors off like I do.

Fantastic additions!

Looks as good in real life as it does in the pictures. Very sturdy design which gives it it's weight however that's what I want in a part...."a solid design". After reading the reviews myself before purchasing I read that someone recommended using a jack if installing the parts themselves. This was an excellent idea and one I used myself with absolutely no difficulty. All in all it took me no more than 30min. to install both sides and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Yes they were a little heavy but personally that's what I want in the parts I buy. I want to know they can take a beating and then some and I am confident that these side rails won't just give a helping hand getting into my lifted beauty but also offer protection from off road hazards and everyday careless drivers.

Looks Great! Very easy to install.

I got a little nervous buying these with some of the comments speaking of "hard to install" and "had to drill holes". But my situation was completely different, they bolted right on and I was able to drove off 20 minutes later.

Great Rail/Step

I was a bit worried about purchasing the rails after reading some of the reviews, but have to say at this point I'm glad I did. My son and I installed these on my 2014 JK Unlimited with no problems at all in under an hour (both sides) and using a light (it was dark out). No grinding, no forcing, no issues!!! Two people to install is a definite plus, but it can be done by one if you have to. Tools should be a long socket, extension and socket wrench. Key is the long socket. Don't use an impact socket they are probably too thick. The thinner the socket walls the better. Undo 4 nuts each side, put the rail up and put the nuts back on. That easy.

easy to install

This was the first thing that was added to my 2016 Unlimited. The install was done by myself and 8 year old son in about 40 mins. Could not have gone better. I held the rails up and he started the bolts, his small hands helped.

Very happy with my purchase

These look as good as they work. My wife needed help getting in after a 3" lift and 35s. I hate steps on a jeep but these are very nice.

Easy install and they look great

I was able to install these by myself in under 40 minutes. The longest part of the install was removing the factory steps

Nice Bars.

These are heavy, well made, nice welding. They look to be very strong even with only the two mounting spots. My boy is 6'3 and 250 pounds and they hold up well for him. Both he and I have to step down into the Jeep as the step is higher than the inside floor. I didn't want a step that hung down however .. It took the two of us 30 minutes to install both of them, they fit perfectly and bolted right up without problems. While not "rock sliders", I think they are pretty strongly built, and would probably stand some mild abuse.

Looks awesome!

Looks crazy good! Easy install by myself just used a couple of jack stands for the extra hands. Also used a hydraulic jack to coax it into place. Super happy!

Very pleased

Read other reviews and was a little skeptical. However, they arrived in perfect condition and went on in less than 30 minutes with no alterations whatsoever. Used a couple jackstands to help support them. They look very rugged and have zero flex when standing on them.

Very nice looking

So I read a lot of reviews on this site as well as others talking about the difficulty of installation. I almost didnt order them because of this, as I am not the best mechanic in the world, but thought I'd give them a try. It took me just as long to get the old ones off as it did to put the new ones on! Definitely make sure you have a 10mm open ended wrench to get the factory rails off!! (for a 2010 sahara unlimited anyway) I removed the old ones and installed these myself with a couple of cinder blocks in about 2 hours. It definitely looks sharp. Not sure how durable they are, as I have not been off road yet. They did come with a big 'ole yellow smittybilt sticker on them that wasnt shown in any pics, so I spent about 20 minutes with goo-gone getting them and the residue off as well. They look sharp with bumpers that have the same tubes on them as well!

The look I wanted but.......

I thought it would be easy to install with 8 bolts and take no time at all. Took them to work so I could get some help because they are heavy and I couldn't get them myself. I thought it was just because I couldn't hold them up to get all bolts lined up. I was wrong because like others we were grinding forever. We did get one on so I drove home with the passenger side on. I looked cool for sure. I came back home grinding some more and then I started reading reviews because I was at the point to take them darn things back. I wanted them though because they look sick. My buddy came from work and we tried again after I grinding more. We finally got them on after working for longer than I ever thought we would. I was so over Smittybilt products that I actually took back my hardtop hoist made from them. I vowed not to buy anything from them again. Well after I searched and search for my front bumper I wanted it turned out I had to go back to Smittybilt. This time though I paid to have bumper installed. Only issue there was some bolts that rusted. Long story short they look amazing but there is some flaws. I believe that they know how good they look that tiny issues don't phase them.

Awesome add on for any Jeep.

Ordered these rocker guards for my daughters Jeep for a HS Graduation present. Installed in 45 minutes. Wish we would have done it sooner; someone t-boned her and these would have taken the other driver out and not harmed her 2014 Wrangler Unlimited. Would prefer an integrated foot pad on the steps otherwise an awesome add-on. Can't wait till next summer to add more Smittybuilt accessories when she is back from her first year of college.
