Smitty built receiver hitch represents one of the most important items I carry to get myself out of trouble I've gotten into.

Recently used this hitch shackle during recovery of a Ford Explorer that was buried up to its axles in snow. Eventually I had to use a winch since the snatch strap approach wasn't effective enough, but this product did withstand the rigors of several pulls. My only gripe thus far is that this shackle sticks out a bit too far & I end up banging my shins on it now & then ;)

good product needed to shave a little paint from the shackle and the hitch since it was difficult to put back together. but it was a nice think paint job. should last with time. Also a great tool paired up with a chain to pull out stumps.

This D-ring hitch is very functional, but not perfect. I would recommend it and I believe it is a great value. As off-road enthusiasts, our parts can really take a beating. With the powder-coat black finish, there are a few chips in it after a few uses, but nothing that affects performance in the least. It is very strong and otherwise shows no signs of wear or abuse. Installation...well duh, it goes in as easily as a receiver hitch should. The shackle is large and rated at 9500lbs so even the most difficult recoveries should be well under its rating. The shackle accepts 2" straps easily as well as winch hooks. My only complaint: the fit in the 2" receiver is a little loose. This is what keeps it from a 5-star rating. It clunks around on rough roads quite a bit. I am going to go get a rubber hitch cover and cut it up so that it stops this D-ring from clunking and fits nice and tight in the receiver. Otherwise, it is great.

Pulled out other trucks stuck in sand the first weekend out after buying. Very strong and easy to use! Glad I bought it!

I have a few mildly modified Jeeps and an extreemly tight budget, this receiver hitch D ring works just as expected without breaking the bank.

This is a great priced receiver D-ring. The one I received was not as well finished as the one pictured, that's the only reason for the 4 Star rating. Other than that, it's perfect.

Nice recovery hitch d-ring setup. Nice and heavy, doesnt rattle going down the road. I havent used it for recovery yet but I dont anticipate any issues based on how heavy and well built it is.
