Tire carrier install

This thing is easy install. With just a few tools full set of torx sockets is a must. Plastic interior tools are nice also. Watch alignment of hinge side of gate

Kicks ass

Several reviews stated it was hard to align. Mine was super easy. Had the girlfriend help me for a second to do it. As others have said, getting old bolts out was hardest part. I?m super stoked with it. Sturdy, smooth action and looks cool.

Easy install

Easy install and really made the tailgate area sturdy for 35s with no rattle.

Great tire carrier!

The Spartacus HD Tire Carrier kit is super sturdy, handles a 35" tire like a champ, and came with great instructions! I upgraded to this tire carrier in preparation for 37's

Easy Install

Great quality over all. Super easy installation. Would like to have seen a provision for the second spare tire vibration pad to be reinstalled!!

Heavy Duty

I am holding off giving it 5 stars because I just installed it. Its very rugged. the thinnest portion I could see was 1/4 thick aluminum. I have a 33 inch tire that was bending the old hinges. This straightened it up.

Nice carrier seems sturdy few nit picks!

Got this in preparation of moving from 33” stock on my Rubi to 37” tires. Install was going great until I had a cross threaded bolt hold when attaching the latches with the RR tire carrier. Thats not any fault of the RR carrier just the install took a good bit longer than I had thought. I will also say its a little nerve racking when your tailgate is not being held on but only but the handle lock so be careful. I have only had a chance to mount the 33” tires on the back and for some reason the bottom bolt seems to not push out as long as the top two that hold the rear brake light. One thing I will point out is that I saw some install videos where one guy used the factory M8 bolts instead of the ones that RR supplies to hold the tire carrier portion where it overlaps with the hinge assembly. I think that’s probably not a bad idea since I noticed after it was installed that the RR bolts they give do not go all the way through the threads since It overlaps with the latching portion (hopefully the picture will make more sense). This might be something that RR should look into.
