Install was a snap, I used needle nose vice grips to get the nuts started. I would not waste the time of removing the plastic bumper like the other reviewers suggested. The wiring harness already has attachment clips for the predrilled holes in the frame, no need for wire ties. The whole process took me 30-45 minutes.
Was very easy to install, didn't even need the directions, it was obvious how to install it. The picture showed nuts welded to the hitch. They were not, but was still a simple install. Wiring harness was easy too. (I did look at the directions for a quick minute)
If your using this on a Wrangler with the spare tire mounted on the back door. If you want to use a bike rack you will need to order a 2” high extension so it will clear the tire. It does clear but it is tight up against the rear camera, not good, will ruin the camera. I installed the extension and now theirs plenty of clearance. If they would have made it just 1” longer an extension would not have been necessary. Product is painted well, strong, looks good, install is simple. A 5 year old could figure it out without instructions, A+ on the easy application and mounting procedures. And priced reasonable. 5 stars all the way!!!!
A quality hitch that was relatively easy to install…looking forward to all of the uses it will allow.
Easy to install with everything you need. Installed on my 2015 Wrangler in under 30min. No drilling, no cutting, and no rewiring.
Easy to install, instructions were complete and fairly easy to follow, looks great on my Jeep.
Solid product from a company with a legendary reputation.
Bought this to attach a bike carrier to my JL. Installed in 10 minutes and was good to go. Thanks!
Simple easy instal wiring harness just plugs right in behind tail light, real slick and easy.
[...] installation was a walk in the park, appears to be exactly like O.E.M. Couldn't ask for more!
Difficult to get the nuts on the bolts on the 2015 Rubicon due to limited space between the receiver and the bumper. Would recommend duct taping the nuts to the receiver prior to the install, lining up the nuts to the holes. Holding them with a set of needle nose pliers works, but is difficult.
Only gripe is I live in TX and so is 4WD so I had to pay taxes. It took 5 days to get the part which meant it was drop shipped from out of state warehouse. I could have ordered it out of state but figured I'd get it in 1-2 days by ordering it in TX.
This is nicely grouped package, great for someone with a stock Jeep that wants to have a rear D-shackle for use in recovery. The difficult with attaching the receiver is putting the nuts on the 2 inner bolts, there is not enough room between the plactis cover over tha bumper and the receiver to get you fingers up in there to hold the nut. I had to remove 6 bolts on the bumper so I could move it enough to get to the bolts. It wasn't hard removing and replaing those 6 bolts, just took extra time. There are other receivers out there that have the nuts built into the receiver so you just have to tighten the bolts in.
