Reviews: RT Off-Road Tailgate Hinges

I bought the RT stainless hinges on a Black Friday sale at 4WP online. I purchased hood, door lower body hinge for lower door hinges and tailgate hinges all RT OFF-ROAD brand. Got the RT OFF-ROAD windshield hinges for Christmas as well. Seem to be a lot better built than the factory hinges that have been on their for 16 years or more now. Let me tell you the torqx bolts were a pain to remove tried everything to remove them! Heat etc. only way it worked for me was left handed drill bits drilled into them not real far and beat the torqx socket into them with hammer and they broke loose. The torqx socket didn’t work by itself it stripped all but a few out. The few that came out broke loose with heat and the torqx socket. The rear tailgate torqx bolts in the tub broke off not a big problem cause there’s a plate with threads in them to hold the bolts removed them used big washers and a nut and tightened them down. The tailgate I purchased a new tailgate and installed it because of those stupid torqx bolts cause I didn’t wanna mess with them cause if they broke off your kinda SOL! Wish Chrysler would have used anti seeze instead of lock-Tite on the bolt threads! Would have made the job a lot easier! What a pain but it’s done! If I ever get another wrangler I will not change out hinges!
