Reviews: Rock Hard 4x4 Patriot Series Rocker Guard Sliders

After spending months researching sliders, and considering the fact that I did NOT want to drill into my body any more than necessary, I came across these and decided to pull the trigger. Most difficult part during the install was to get the body bolts back in properly (typical Jeep problem). They are solid, clean and had ZERO damage when arriving. The powdercoat is good. They function well as a step for my kids and wife (and mother) but they function even better for the types of trails I do (some rocks, stumps and a lot of mud).

Rocks and/or tree stumps....no problem!

Installed these rocker guards yesterday. Fairly easy install. Well made. Seem to be solidly attached to the XJ's unibody. Hardest part of install was ensuring the 18(!) holes (nine per side) I had to drill through the pinch rails were drilled precisely. I had one question about the install that I emailed to RockHard. They called me in less than an hour and answered my question. Bottom line - this product is what I expected, meets my requirements, and is priced fairly. What more can you ask for?

UPS beat up the box and it was ripped open and all the pieces were 'free floating' in there with little padding between the rails. Even the nuts, bolts and plates came out of their bag. Each rail should have been individually wrapped and then strapped together inside. This is in no way a reflection of their quality/craftsmanship. They are really solid and I love the additional step/protection.

Bolts were too short for the front two holes in each side. No instructions supplied but easy enough to figure out. Very simple installation. Looks good and great protection. Added some scratches in the first week.

Install on my XJ went pretty well. It was a little tough getting all the holes drilled and lined up along the pinch rails, but we eventually got it to work. These rails are not beautiful, but they seem to do the job.
