It was time to replace my shocks and springs (stock originals) I knew when the time came I would do a lift kit and bigger tires. I didn't want anything to high so I decided on the 2 inch (rubicon comes with a 1 Inch lift from the factory) I'm at 3 inches total and I couldn't be happier. I went with pro comp AT 285/75/16's (33's) perfect combo. Kit doesn't come with boots and that's a good thing so u can pick your own color if you want to match your jeep, thier cheep anyways.
Extremely easy to install. Having a good floor jack and a crow bar doesn't hurt either. Just follow the directions in the order given. It have me 2 inches on the button, and the front and back were level (no stink bug look). The new coil springs popped in moderately easy (recall my comment on the crow bar), and I didn't even have to take the bump stops out. Did not use a coil compressor. The only hang up I had were the rear shocks. The upper mounting bolts were rusted solid. They screw into a blind nut on the other side of some thick sheet metal and are very hard to remedy if you snap them off. If they snap, drilling out is the only option. Not a good Jeep design at all. There are companies that sell rear shock upper brackets that seem to be what Jeep should have put there in the first place. The front-end stabilizer that was suggested in the part list was a bit on the small (thin) side.
This replaced the factory springs and shocks on a 2000 TJ I recently purchased that rode like absolute garbage. This system makes it ride like it's BRAND NEW! Great lift for a great price.
Easy to install. Installed on a 2006 Jeep TJ. Looks outstanding!!
Installed on a 2004 Jeep Tj , had no issues and better than stock ride . I did not have to modify anything on my Jeep, only had to replace bump stops due to being worn. I recommend this 2 in lift kit.
I like them, Better ride on and off road. I could tell immediately.
Quick easy install, rides great, looks great, and even
Everyone bashes on these but for street use they are great. On the trail they are not great but manageable.
The kit was really easy to install and has been really great since. On top of making my TJ look great, the added performance is awesome. I have 31 inch tires and have had no problems with clearing anything I've come across so far. It did great at the local ORV park.
Perfect tires, fast shipping
I use my vehicle for traveling and transporting my Bass Boat to and from home, 45 miles each way.
I've had my jeep for 12 years and it was time to get new tires, but I wanted to go bigger this time. Randy at 4 wheel parts was very helpful with the look I was going for. The 2 inch lift was affordable and I was surprised how much higher my jeep was afterwards. I wanted to avoid a ridiculously lifted look and 2 inches definitely was enough. I am planning on putting 32'' tires on it this month and I am excited to see the final look!
this product is great and i still have a good ride.
NICE LIFT CLEARS 32 MTR'S NICE 2 INCHES IN THE FRONT A LITTLE MORE IN THE BACK
Did install on my wife's "05 jeep LJ. Easy to install didn't take long at all. I've been buying procomp lifts for a couple years now and one thing I've found is they don't always have the best ideas. The instructions said all you had to do was take off the tires and remove shocks. I knew there would be more too it but I tried just too see. No bueno.... You must undo the track bar bolts for front and back. Same goes for the sway bar bolts too. After I did that it was too easy!
2004 Wrangler Rubicon w/ 100,000 miles Stock shocks and springs were worn, as were the tires, so I went with this lift vs. spacers over the spring. New shocks do not include shock boots, but shown in photo. No bump stops included for the new height. New front shocks had powder coating on the threads. I had to wire brush them to get the nuts on without cross threading. Old shocks came off with a lot of difficulty (rear bolts snapped, front studs on top of shock were fused to nut), but that seems to be common and not a fault of the kit. Just be prepared for the hassle of having to deal with it. If you snap the rear bolts, they are M8x1.25-30mm. The only hardware included are the nuts for the front shock stud, and the bar pins are not fitted to the rear shocks (also a slight pain to install, but if you use the metal sleaves included in the rear shock parts bag, and some WD40 on the rubber bushing, it makes pressing them in a tad bit easier)
Easy install, Great Fit, I recommend replacing your control arms with it on older TJs. Like driving a new Jeep
The kit did not come with all the needed parts. Because you can't hang the rear shocks upside down, you need shock re-locators for the rear or they will hit. You also need the transmission lowering kit or you will get a vibration. This information would have been nice before starting the project because I had to go back to the store and order the required parts which put me back a few days. Also I started out with a level jeep and after the lift it put the front exactly at two inches and the rear at three inches, know I have a stink bug. Hopefully the rear will settle down.
Works well for me.
Good kit for the money. Shocks are not anything special but the springs are good, nice and thick metal. Stiff.
