Reviews: Poison Spyder RockBrawler Rear Bumpers

Our TJ is 17 years old now and has had the old classic tube bumpers on it since new. With a 31" spare hanging on the tailgate it has just about destroyed the latch and hinges on the gate. Now with a new lift and 35's I knew we would need to upgrade to a bumper mounted spare and this was the one we chose. I have a local powder coat company that offers PolyArmor Thermoplastic coatings so we went with this type of coating and it came out very nice. Installation was pretty easy, but it is a challenge to access the rear of the frame box to tighten the bolts. I tried dropping the gas tank but this bumper extends down to cover the gas tank shield, so I had to re-install the shield before tightening all of the bumper hardware. After mounting the 35" spare on the carrier it is rock solid and does not shake or squeak. I definitely recommend using the bottom corner bolts though, as they give it a lot of stability. All said, we are very happy with the bumper and definitely would buy it again, although it is very expensive it is worth the price.

Had this bumper on for a year. Subaru rear ended me and completely smashed their entire front end. Nothing but a smudge of paint on my bumper. Very well built. Looks great. With that durability they are a little hefty, but prob a good since a back bumper usually takes a lot of punishment.

Super easy to install on my LJ. Great quality steel and welds.

Bumper is way better than stock and I feel better if someone does rearend my jeep. Adds a hitch to your jeep. This was a way easy install and there is a video on you tube. Looks great

Poison Spyder is first class. The bumper is well built and welds are flawless. The Powder Coater was just as impressed. The bumper fits nicely with the Jeep's lines. My only complaint was with 4Wheel Parts for the 6 weeks it took to be delivered. Not real impressed with the customer service. But all in all I'm sure I'll buy here again...

Best steel bumper out there. Fit was perfect, finish was perfect. Couldn't be happier.

Bumper fit and finish is excellent. Despite online photos indicatining otherwise, this bumper is EXACTLY tub width, so it looks fantastic with aftermarket fender flares. Don't bother with the poison spider brand 2.5" lights, they are basically trash. Baja Designs S1 pods fit with very little modification. Literally just drill 1 hole in each light pocket for a bolt, and they mount up perfectly!

Good looking stout bumper and at 40% off I couldn’t pass it up. Only thing I don’t like are the cut outs for lights.

Good product, fairly easy to install, only got a 4 star because it was missing some hardware.

Bought this bumper for my 2003 tj to match the RockBrawler front, could not be more impressed with the quality, fit, finish and customer service received from 4wheel parts.
