Reviews: Poison Spyder Hood Louver - 14-53-011-PC

It’s well made, packaged for shipping correctly and looks great in the anodized black as a contrast to your hood color. Oh and it does a fantastic job of getting the heat out from under the hood. It also fits really well on the Toyota FJ40 which is what we have installed it on. I’ve purchased quite a few things from these guys and they are on point every time !!

Excellent quality piece, great instruction made for a easy install.

Easy to follow instructions but the kit was missing a few nuts that fasten the louver to the hood, but a quick find at local hardware store. Overall very happy with this product!

part was well made, instructions were easy to work with, I used a plasma cutter, had no problem with install.

I suggest a step bit for drilling the 20 starter holes accept for the holes with more than one layer to go through because the hole saw I used wasn't up for all that work. I purchased this product for the cooling benefits and as a bonus to cover hail damage. YouTube video that poison spider did for this was very helpful. Great finish great fit very satisfied. Only complaint is the two layers in the very front cause the bolts to tilt slightly but that can be fixed by drilling out the bottom layer

Product came in a timely manner. Downfall is that it did not have the mounting hardware in the package. Linked up with Poison Spyder and they had it shipped out the same day I received my package. As far as great looks, and functional it does both. Heat soak in the engine bay has gone down dramatically. Now this will not make your engine run cooler, but it will eliminate the heating of your hood associated with heat soak.

Overall very happy with look and function of this item. The powdercoat job could have been better. There were tiny areas of pooling and bubbling at hood louvre vent slots on one side. Installs easily, but the template should be adjusted slightly to eliminate the need to cut through double-steel areas of hood and slanted support on leading edge. This would make for easier install and better seating of nuts on hood underside.
