On my second set

Over 60,000 miles on the first set of Dura Grapplers, could not be happier. All the traction I need both on and off the road. 390,000 miles on this truck, went through the original Firestones, then 2 sets of Terra Grapplers, 3 sets of Dune Grapplers and now on my second set of Dura Grapplers. I can tell you they are by far the best. I look for them first for every tire I buy.

Best Tires I Have Ever Owned

I have owned both the 325/60r18 and 305/70r18 and both these tires are excellent. Out of the 8 tires I have owned the maximum ballance weight was 1.5 ounces this is unmatched by even Michelin's. I drove my 325/60r18 for 25000 miles and tires only showed 5/32 wear. I drove 305/70r18 for 10000 before first rotation and tires still were at new tread depth. Extremely quiet on the highway and super smooth on road bumps. Yes 305/70r18 will fit on stock 2011 fx4 f350

Very Happy

When the time came to replace the tires on the Wife's Suburban, we were going to get Michelin Defender, LTX / MS, as we have always ran them on our cars, However Michelin could not get the tires we wanted.. After waiting 4 months, we decided to go with these Nitto (P 265/70R17") Dura Grappler's". They are GREAT! Extremely quiet, and a very soft ride compared to the no name tires that were on it when we bought it. Having a set of Trail Grapplers on my 2003 Dodge Truck, which have performed very well, I was familiar with the brand. We highly recommend these tires. The Wife is very happy with the ride and the look of the tires. We don't drive it off road nor during snow and ice cause we don't want anyone to hit it. That's what the Dodge truck is for. You will love these tires.. Wish they had them in a smaller size for our other cars!

best tire on the road for a truck

I am so impressed with this tire. I have had the same truck for 16yrs and have been through many tires. This tire is an awesome balance between aggressiveness and comfort. The comfort is understated because It makes my truck drive like my wife's Mercedes. Even at highway speed i have no in cab noise and rides as smooth as a cat's behind. I hope nitto never changes this model. I will definitely buy again. I do go off road on ranches etc. and i equally impressed with the traction as i am the smoothness of the ride. Nitto tires are like a good pair of work boots. Two of the most important tools i have. one to keep my feet in good shape and the other to keep my butt on the road. You will not regret this choice in tires.

Over 100k mostly highway miles...

And I finally need to replace them. These have been the best tires I have ever owned, period. I will be replacing them with the exact same thing. They were over their mileage warranty before I ever noticed any decrease in any characteristic. Quiet and comfortable with great traction in dry and wet conditions; what else could you ask for?

Will replace tires before next big trip

We have 45000 miles and these tires pulling a 40ft 5th wheel across the country they are the quietest tires we have ever had and still have miles to go before they wear out.

70,000 miles and still going strong

The factory tires were Michelin and when I got 70,000 miles out of them I was impressed but when I decided it was time to get some new tires and I wanted a taller tire I found that Michelin had no options for me. I decided to give the Nitto LT 285X75X17 a try. These are the quietest tires that I have ever owned and the 10 ply rating with stiff sidewalls gives me a stable ride even when I am towing heavy loads. Another advantage of the taller tire was an extra 1 mpg in fuel savings. Most of my driving is open highway running 80+ with 10,000 tire rotations. I will get between 80,000-90,000 miles of use out of these tires, I can ask any more from these tires and when it eventually comes time to replace them I will put on another set of Nitto 285X75X17 Dura Grapplers!

no tread life

Less than 30000 miles and will not pass inspection. Rotated and balance regularly. Will go back to Michelms for twice the mileage as these.

Quiet at the price of MPGs

Dura Graplers: I'm only writing this review to warn those that want better gas mileage, this tire is so *smooth and quiet because it has more mass than a concrete wheel! I dropped 2 MPG average; combined city/hwy. I got better mileage with my BFG M/Ts, but they aren't meant for pavement nor a dd. I purchased these, because i had a big hole to fill, (6 inch lift with R16 wheels). I needed a tall tire (LT285/75R16), -that, didn't make my lift look like an after thought, but i also wanted a "Highway" tire, smooth and quiet and very durable... (I thought that meant, less rolling resistance = +mpg. After 2 years, they look brand new and are aforementioned, but the mass on these things equates to extra load. -they are great for hauling loads over a ton without deflection! ; ) The only saving grace is my 4.56 gear ratio that saves my 4.2L V6!! Otherwise, i wouldn't be able to get these things rolling with a stock 3.55!*Oh, and because of the mass they are stiff, which i had to change my performance shocks to stock, to take out the bumps in the road... every crack or bump would throw my truck into the next lane. They are meant for a heavy duty hauler! -not a half/ton daily driver. -Wish I knew. -but then again, no other "Highway" tire can be found this large and look as aggressive with a lift kit. IMHO

Extremely satisfied with my Dura Grappler tires! Have over 80k miles on my LT305/70R18 tires and at least another 15k to go. Before I get into my review, I want you to know that I have 30 years in the automotive industry; selling tires, racing, engineering and testing. Review: I had been on a quest to find the perfect street/performance tire in a larger size with a high load range; I found this in the Nitto Dura Grappler and so much more! These tires (along with some suspension tuning) turned my 8k lb. Excursion into a crisp handling sports truck. These tires provide significant sidewall stability while delivering a very comfortable ride quality. The grip and traction performance is extraordinary. I have embarrassed many sports car drivers on the North Georgia mountain roads! The Dura Grappler is also a very quiet tire that provides superior wet weather performance. I am also very impressed with how well the tires perform in snow and light off road driving. I will rate this tire a 10, Nitto hit a home run. I recommend this tire to everyone and I will definitely be purchasing another set (if I ever wear these out).

one tough tire

I have had these 285/75/17 Dura grapplers for over 50k miles and I will be buying another set. They are lasting WAY more than any other tire I have had, and I am pretty rough on them...

Great Tire

I purchase these tires a little over a year ago because in the previous 40000 mi I have burnt through 3 other sets of tires and were disappointed with their overall performance. The Dura Grappler was one of the only options in an LT load range to handle all of the heavy towing and hauling that I do. Most of my mileage is on-highway and I did not want an overly aggressive tire. These tires were easy to balance, and incredibly quiet and even weathered bad ball joints with no ill effect on the tires. I was able to pull a 14000lb trailer with minimal squat and no swaying at highway speeds. I will purchase another set once the have worn out, with the towing I do 30000 miles on properly rotated tires is a mile stone considering one set of Tires (factory equivalents) lasted on 7500 mi.

Excellent road tires

Quiet, comfortable and long lasting. Used in a variety of conditions from towing a car hauler and a 32' camper. Tires have been in the truck for five years with 50,000 miles. Still 1/3 of the tread left. in Florida with the heat and rain these tires hold up well for on road driving.

Great tires for a HD pickup

Like others, I wanted a good highway tire with a heavy load rating. That would also do well on limited off road applications, like gravel and dirt roads as well as at the boat ramp. I have ran Michelin's before and they are great tires as well, but they don't make them in the size that I wanted. My Nitto Dura's 285/75/R17 are great, they give me a taller tire with an attractive tread pattern but don't sacrifice quietness or comfort. If I had I lighter truck I may have went with a more aggressive tread pattern, but for a HD truck that mostly sees more highway miles than anything else, these are a wonderful choice. They give me confidence driving on wet and snow covers roads and stand up well under heavy loads.

God replacement for factory Michelins

I like these tires, they are smooth and quiet while still looking a bit aggressive. Truck handles well with them. Would purchase again.

Done looking for the right truck tire

I am on my second set of these and will continue using this tire. I rotate in a spare so I get about 25% higher mileage than you will if you don't use a spare. I got over 80,000 on the first set. Second set has 25,000+ miles on them and nowhere near ready to be replaced. Great combination of a highway tire with occasional off road use. Great weight capacity @ 3750 per tire which is important to me as I push the limits of my truck load capacity. Good in snow and pulling the boat trailer out on the beach. Quiet on the highway...this is my main use. Can be easily be broken loose in the rain if you have a turbo, as that is not their strong point. It's a truck tire and @ 10 ply and 80psi, don't expect a Cadillac cushioned ride. If that is what you want, go buy a car and a car tire. I refereed a friend to get these and he didn't pay close attention to the exact name and purchased the Terra Grappler. Those suck for pulling a 5th wheel, and rightfully so as they are intended mainly for off-road. Bottom line - I'm done looking for a truck tire as these meet my needs perfectly.

Good tires, great wear

I'm really impressed with the wear, not so impressed with wet traction. I put these on my Tacoma and have over 50k miles on them, still have good tread but as we head into fall/winter in the Pacific Northwest I just don't have the confidence running them through another wet winter. Even with good weight in the bed they will spin from a dead stop or under acceleration. For the money and quality they're good tires, still undecided what I'll run next though.

All around best I've had

I was looking for a large size tire 305/55r20 that had a decent ride and didn't hum going down the road. I guy at the tire store suggested the Nitto Grappler and I tried them. So glad I did. Best ride and quietness I've ever had with this size of tire. I had BF Goodrich ties of the same size on the truck and the difference was amazing. These are all I'll run from now on. Great tread life and look sharp.

70,000 miles

I have 305,55-R20's on my 2006 GMC Duramax and love them. At 70,000 miles I'm at 5 thirty seconds so I'll probably end up with 75,000 miles by the time they wear out. I couldn't be happier with these tires. I also tow a 38 foot 5th wheel with these and have had no trouble.

GREAT TIRE

I have had these tires on my 2013 Silverado 2500hd 4x4 diesel for over 60,000 miles. I do mostly highway driving and these are great even at higher speeds and long trips. There is very little road noise and the ride is very comfortable. I regularly tow a 32ft enclosed trailer that weighs around 9000lbs with no issue either. Winter performance is fine if they still have good tread, but remember they are a highway tire first. I would and have recommended these tire to friends and customers alike. They are the best truck tires I have ever used. They are 275/60/20.
