Reviews: Hyline Offroad Louvered Hood Panels

I kept putting this off all Summer and finally decided to install it before winter. Shopped around and watched a few installs on YouTube. The Hyline version is super easy and comes with a metal template which allows for an accurate cut-out. Took about 2 hours and looks super sharp. You can't go wrong with this one.

They look great but the install is a lil tricky. I had a few holes I had to upsize to get the studs to go through. All in all a great product but be prepared for water to get in the engine area.

Excellent product. I'm glad I found this one instead of the Poison Spyder! The template was a perfect fit and a must have. I really like how the bolts are hidden. Took about 2 hours to install once I gathered the courage to cut my good. Just take your time and follow the detailed instructions.

Hyline Louvers. These louvers not only fit perfect, they were easy to install. You can actually feel a good amount of heat coming out of the vents while the Jeep is parked. Love them.

Best louvers on the market for an XJ in my opinion. Had issues wheeling in the summer with the AC on in 100+ degree weather and going up steep grades on the freeway. Now with the louvers installed it never passes 212 degrees. Other side benefit, in hot weather if I parked the jeep to go into a store after getting back the temp gauge would read 225+ degrees and misfire for the first 45 seconds or so from heat soaked injectors that had no liquid fuel left in them. With the louvers installed, that problem has disappeared. My favorite part about these louvers is that they came with a 2 piece steel template you lay on your hood. No guess work when drilling the holes or doing the cut outs. These louvers also leave your hood cross support fully intact.

Ordered this louver because of the press studs and overall look. Quality is good, and the included template is good. The instructions however, have you drill holes for the mounting studs that are not on the louver, about 32 too many. Also, because of this, the template pattern could be made simpler for the cut outs. I used an electric nibbler and it took no time to make the hood cut outs. Overall pretty nice product.

Directions were simple and install was easy. I would recommend cutting the hood out more to get more out of the middle section of vents.

Great Product. Cutting templates make it professional, good looking and functional. Only issue was with one of the blind bolts nut seizing on and then breaking loose the bolt. Threads damaged on bolt and head had to be pinched with a vise grip to break loose/remove, had to fabricate a replacement. Made sure to check threads and tighten tighten all nuts as fare as able. Still, a great looking product.

I purchased this product to improve the air flow in the engine bay and the killer looks.It balances out well with other accessories I've installed on the 06 LJ. Installation was straight forward. This is not a stick on application. Drilling holes and cutting out vents holes in your original hood are required, but that was so much fun! Two things stand out to improve: 1. a couple of pressed in screws were not solidly pressed in. 2. I would have liked this in a TEXTURED powder coat option. Otherwise this is a good bang for your buck product. A lot of other TJ's will check your ride.
