Just installed these on my lifted Silverado. Very noticeable difference in stopping power. The mechanic I brought them too said Hawk's are top of the line. I agree.
These new pads make it easier to stop with larger tires and heavy loads.
The Hawk brake pads have made a huge difference in my stopping power, I found this out one day when I had to slam on the brakes going about 50 mph and I was quite impressed especially with the fact that my Jeep wasn't ran up into someone else's bumper. I got the Hawk brake pads, Power Slot Rotors and got my brake fluid changed. (Great Combo BTW) After that my brake pedal went from somewhat tight (Stock) to extremely tight. It makes me feel good knowing that my brakes will preform when I need them to, off road as well on steep inclines and declines. I highly recommend these brake pads.
I have a noticably better braking system, especially when towing my 26 foot toybox.
Everyday use on my truck
this brake pad has good stopping power. effective temperature range is 100-700?f. excellent for large tires, trucks , crawling speeds, and highway speeds
Hawk makes a good pad. I put them on my cars and trucks. I believe they perform better than any auto parts store brand. They are worth the money.
Great
[...] I have been pleased with the performance of these pads in conjunction with the new drilled and slotted brake rotors that I also installed. (name withheld due to rules) I suggest that you always examine your parts carefully before installation.
These Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads were a great choice for the next stage of modification on my ZJ.The front pads needed to be replaced anyway, and these Hawks turned out to be a good choice fit on my rig. There was some initial confusion prior to purchase,...as I inquired as to why there were two different thicknesses listed on the 4 Wheel Parts site. [...] I found out from the local Jeep dealer that half of the '98 ZJs actually got '99 model year calipers! This didn't apply to mine, so it lent no clarity to which of the two listed thicknesses I needed. After spending about an hour in discussions about the calipers and pad thicknesses between the Jeep Dealer and 4 Wheel parts, I finally decided to contact the Source and Manufacturer: Hawk themselves. After a brief five minutes, it turned out to be a very simplistic choice afterall! The 0.591 thickness is for the Rear! The 0.677 thickness is for the Front! Now, if only they were listed this way on the 4 Wheel Parts Website, I wouldn't have had a clarified confusion story to tell!
Much better stopping power over stock pads with stock rotors.Very little brake dust. I did try this pads with Powerslot Rotors and the rotors ate up the pads. Stay away from the PowerSlot rotors and stay with the stock rotors
great breaks stops alot quicker
I had my mechanic put them on while we redid the front brake roaters. On normal pave road they respond good like any brake do. On the gravel and durt roads it was easy to apply too much brakes and have the wheels skid. It recommend that you allow distance in stopping on slippery roads and put brake on easy. It is too early to tell about the maintenance.
