Rock Jock Dana 60 TJ Rear Axle.

Its not what they tell you !! Its not a bolt on axle Assy and the drive shaft Modification is the least of your worries. The Rock Jock Dana 60 TJ Rear High Pinion Axle Assembly; 4.10 gear ratio; Detroit True Trac; G2 35 spline axle shafts; 1350 Series Yoke;Ductile iron housing center section;AR 400 heat treated bottom skid... The only thing the add said and I Quote ( May Require Drive shaft Modifications ) !!! So to be on the safe side I called 4 wheel drive Hardware and ask if it would work as a every day driver and with a 2" left Kit on a 2002 TJ ? The Guy told me the same thing as the Add and I Quote again ( May Require Driveshaft Modifications ) This is all It will need it is a bolt on Axle ASSY? and it will work on your 2002 TJ. When I get the Axle I try to put it on Everything is not just bolt on ?? The lower control arms will not work with the factory ones, the sway bar will not go on at all and the emergency brake cables will not hook up. So I called GS and 4 Wheel Drive Hardware and was told it was not indented for every day used that it is for off road was not told this in ADD or when I called to order the Axle. After I had to cut the backing plate for the lower control arms so they would fit. I called 4 wheel drive Hardware to see about the sway bar and was told it had to be put on the bottom of the axle also not in ADD or was told this when I called. Now the factory Wheels will not go on they hit the disc brakes. Again was not in Add or told when called. I Had to put spacers on the rear wheels. Now the Axle is on but the drive shaft will not work the Axle it turn up to much. I took My TJ to a local shop and they could not fix it but did damage the drive shaft and cost about $300.00. I called again and was told that no one had ever tried to put a Rock Jock Dana 60 on with a 2" lift that I would need at least a 4" lift. I wanted it for every day driving and did not want to go to a 4" lift but I did not have a choice being I had cut the backing plate for the lower control arms. I took it to 4 Wheel Drive Hardware shop. Let me say the GUYS there was great and worked with me so much to get this solved. But after about $1900.00 a 4" lift and new drive shaft it is running good but I had to order new wheels at $900.00 to get the spacers off the rear wheels. So the Rock Jock Dana 60 TJ Rear High Pinion Axle Assembly that's about $3,600.00 that's bolt on. Cost me about $3,000.00 to make road ready. That's over $6,600.00 for a bolt on Axle assy?? I would recommend this Axle but not as a BOLT ON ASSY!!

Kind of bolt in...

For the few hundred extra than a D44, it's well worth the money. Huge axle shafts that will handle big tires and lots of motor. It does come with 1350 yoke even when I asked to have it shipped with 1310 yoke... There is no "May require driveshaft modification"... It most def will require a new driveshaft. The RJ60 will shrink most shafts by 2+ inches. New brake lines will need to be bent and installed... If I had to do it over again, I would have upgraded to disc brakes.
