It took about 7 hours to install.
Elocker work as it should. It works great and no issues with it. I’m so glad I went with a elocker vs the others.
Worked great as a replacement for my stock 2004 Rubicon locker with 4.56 thick cut gears
Worked out awesome installed elocker and worked out perfect
On the 2003 through 2006 TJ rubicon you have to get the 3.92 and down even though you have 4.10 gears. The factory gears are thick cut.
Shopping online, it showed the gears were in stock. Ordered, showed up as promised a few days later. That's hard to do or even expect right now. Pleasant surprise. Tried Rough Country, Quadratec and a few other sites, no luck.
It’s an open diff. Then at the toggle of a switch it’s locked. Does it get any better than that?
I bought this several years ago when it first came out. (Pre-ordered actually, but anyway.) I've put about 50k on my Jeep since then. Wheeled it and driven it in some of the worst winter weather imaginable. For the first couple years I had the driveshaft pulled because I re-geared the rear to 4.88 when I installed the e-locker, but the front wasn't in the budget. Sofor two years all I had was a 2WD jeep with the E-locker in it. I'll say that whenever I would have needed 4WD, engaging the E-locker took care of it. It's a brute. It just works... every time. All you need is 12v. I've seen others not engage because the auto-locker won't spin enough, or there's a air leak they can't find or get to. Not a problem with the e-locker. I've have it engage standing in 3' of water. It's an on-demand locker, so it only works when you want it to. If you're on the road (nasty weather) you better be able to have one wheel fully slip when turning as the axle IS fully locked, or switch it off. Installation was as easy as any other carrier installation, plus drilling one hole for the power. I'm using mine with Superior Axle's Super 35 kit. It's an excellent addition and at some point I'll probably get one for the front too.
Excellent quality, the installation was easy and the locker works great!
I have owned the same truck for 6 years now (2005 F350 4X4 Crew Cab Long Bed Powerstroke). Year after year in minus 20's in the snow and ice off road I have ALWAYS had to chain up. Embarrassing in your 4X4 while others with you continue on without having to do so. As well, what a pain in the !$$ in those conditions! This year it was I who was doing some trail blazing! Yahoo!!! It was like I was driving someone elses truck! Wow!!! I'm tellin' ya man - BUY IT!!!
Great Electronic Locker! Tried it out once to make sure it worked and it worked flawlessy! I love the locker, but the wiring under the hood was a little less than desirable. They could have done a cleaner job.
This is in the rear D44 of my Jeep. Time will tell how durable it is. The new 4 pinion design appears to be pretty strong... if the magnetic locking assembly holds up, this should be a great locker. One important thing to be aware of is that the locker should only be engaged while stopped or barely rolling. It also will disengage (unlock) briefly when shifting from forward to reverse or vise versa, so be careful on the gas when changing direction.
