I hope this one holds up. The other one did but it wore out from a lot of use.

Being an older "Gear Head" I have had my time with the old style lockers and have to say that the new "Soft-Lock" Detroit locker really is an improvement over the old "Hard" or "C" locker,(depending on how old you are). It's much quieter than the old styles and very rarely does it bang like the old ones either. Now realizing that this diff does not have limited slip, I would not recommend it for the rookie with a short wheel base vehicle but for the driver that knows exactly what this thing does, it's absolutely perfect. My 2007 JK Jeep (2 door) is my daily driver and once I reprogrammed my brain to compensate for the locker, it's done everything that I want it to do. That over-saturated farm field like ground that you get out in the woods, (way slimier than mud bogging) with the Detroit, it just plows right on through without the herky-jerk that you get with a posi in that environment. This is the way to go for the driver who wants to go anywhere, any time. If you have never driven one before or any differential that is welded solid or a spool, do talk it over with someone who has. They do have their handling differences which if you're not ready for it, it will bite you. Do your research and find out what is best for you.

I put this in my jeeps Dana 44 hd. Couldnt be better. Predictable on road and killer off road. I'd buy it again for sure!
