The existing 4WD knob is one of the most difficult things to remove from your interior. [In my opinion]. I have found that you can remove the base of the existing shift knob, you can use a small flat head screw driver to remove the top. After that you just have to use sheer leverage and a ton of force, but eventually the existing knob WILL release [watch out for your face as the knob becomes a missile in whatever direction you have it]. I would recommend having your 4WD in N or 4L position to get maximum leverage without accidentally killing your hand against your climate controls or radio dials. This billet aluminum knob is amazing when paired with an A/T or Manual shift knob of the same Drake brand. Overall I would say that it actually does lend itself to more solid shifts between 2W and 4W modes. I feel more confident in smooth shifting between transfer cases. It engages fully. It is attached via a supplied allen wrench screw that tightens flush with the existing 4WD post. Very simple to attach once the old one is off... Enjoy this wonderfully stunning replacement to your dull looking factory OEM knob.

I had been told that the stock knob was going to be a pain to get loose, but with just a little physical effort, it slid right off. The Drake knob perfectly matches the others I have and after wheeling with it two days after installation, I had no issues with it. Great product.

Love it along with the rest of my Drake Interior upgrades.
