I replaced an OEM mount that was toast. The Daystar unit performs flawlessly.
Used it on my 89 XJ after replacing the engine and trans. Fit great and came with new nuts.
THIS TRANS MOUNT IS GREAT FOR OFFROAD USE. THE VEHICLE FEELS MORE FIRM ON THE ROAD AND THERE IS LESS SAGGING AT THE BODY.
Used this to replace the stock rubber mount that continues to rip in half. The Daystar mount controls driveline movement much better and hopefully the polyurethane will prove to be much more durable than the factory piece. The only downside is that with the more solid mount, the normal driveline vibrations are more noticeable, but I'm willing to trade a little discomfort for the fact that I should not ever again have to rig a field tran mount just to get me home from the trail.
First off, you need to pay attention to what your actually purchasing. This mount is poly. A quick google of poly vs rubber will show you this mount is more stiff compared to rubber. This means less give and more vibration. My jeep has a 6" and 35" tires and I barely notice more noise or vibration as it had plenty of that to start. Second, its a 1.5" mount, anyone with mechanical understanding knows the oem mount is at least 1" taller. Essentially this mount drops the tranny 1. So if you are running a t-case drop kit, it would be a good idea to remove that after installing this. The poly mount has the one side effect of vibrations felt in cab. The benefits of this mount are that it will last longer. It will not break down when subjected to oil and fluids. I feel this product is above oem in quality. On the flip side, the mount is not designed to be ran on a 98-00 Cherokee without modifications. On a 98-00 Cherokee the exhaust mounts between the tranny mount and the tranny. Then the cross member bolts under all that. Doing so leaves the exhaust pipe sitting on the crossmember which makes an annoying squeaking sound while driving. Secondly, the mount does NOT accommodate the nipple on the exhaust mount plate, leaving you having to drill the hole in the mount out to about an inch. After doing that the holes don't exactly match up to the the transmission bolt holes, now you have to drill another hole for that. All in all, I am satisfied with the mount itself, but I think daystar assumed this mount would fit 98-00, my assumptions are this mount is more suited to pre 98 cherokees. Unless you feel like modifying the mount to the extent needed, I wouldn't buy the mount.

I purchase the transmission mount to replace the original on my jeep cherokee, was told to be a more durable part, but the part is one solid part instead of two from the original, makes the car vibrate so much from the engine that everything inside rumbles and makes a lot of noise. A bad choice without a doubt.
