makes the job a cake walk

the person that owned my cj5 before me used a hammer and screwdriver to loosen the nut. no where in my years of rebuilding vehicles have ever had to that. did my homework and found this socket fit perfect and made the job a cake walk.

A must have

Very heavy, thick metal and well made. 50flbs of torque no problem. Keeps my fingers and screwdrivers out of the grease. Order new nuts and tab washers too. Makes for a good job well done.

Jeep axle socket

Good quality tool. Fitment is precise. Shipping was a bit delayed due to snow storms...

It got me up and goin

I couldnt get this socket local and even spent a pretty good amount of time trying to find it online believe it or not. 4 Wheel Parts had it at a good price [...] The socket was good quality and made by 'Crown',a very reliable company who makes a lot of OEM jeep parts and specialty tools. The other sites that did sell their products were twice as high and pretty expensive shipping.

Worked ok. Awesome for price

I purchased this for my land rover discovery 1 hubs, since they are 52mm/2 1/16, same as old willys dana 44. It worked great.

Well built but not snug fitting

For something that is listed as 2 1/16", I would have expected better tolerances. When I received it, it measured greater than 2 1/8", which is okay but makes removing lock nuts (especially on old jeeps that don't use castle nuts) sloppy and more of a pain than it needs to be. I might even need to make changes to it (ie: grind in grooves so the lock washer doesn't push the socket off when trying to remove outer nut). Otherwise - it is really solid, I've used it to tap out a bearing race from a drum and it didn't even scratch the finish, so good marks there.

Spindle nut socket

Worked fine on the front Dana 44 for my 76 Scout. Would like to see the size marked on it. I engraved 2 1/16 myself.

Spindle Nut Socket by Crown Automotive

Used to remove and reinstall front Wheel Hub on Old Jeeps; repack wheel bearings, service U-joints, pull Spindle & Axels.
