Although it is winter and I have not installed yet. It looks easy to install and all parts are there.
we read the reviews and we were intimidated because we thought that the install would be a pain. We searched youtube http://youtu.be/SiHjRyVdtqU and found the install video for Trektop NX. We followed the instructional video step by step and the install was done in about an hour. I think if you try to install this during cold weather it would be super difficult to do the final close on the zippers. Also the written instructions were poor at best. So I highly recommend the video as your installation guide. When it was all done and installed it looked great and worked perfect. If I have any additional information later I will make an additional post.
Was relatively easy to install it on the jeep. Nearly all the parts fit. The wraparound the rear door sides didn't give enough despite letting this lay out in 90 degree sun for over an hour. So the velcro is barely holding it in place. The tailgate bar clips are not uselessly decorative like the ones that come with the jeep. These ones actually grip well and hold the rear window taut which is nice. All in all I think I prefer this softtop to the default one that comes with the jeep - the only improvement I would like to see would be to use latches on the front instead of screw in knobs.
My jeep looks awesome with this top on it! Buy it! You can also roll it back so its a sunroof for the front two seats or you can roll it back more so its an open roof for all five seats (cant go high speeds like that tho) It doesnt leak water unless there is standing water on the roof. It is a softtop to it is noisey on the road.
The top looks great now that it is on. It went on very easily except for one bolt/nut combination that got stripped. I don't know how I will get it off after the summer. Easy installation. Make sure you watch a instructional video beforehand.
This is a great top if you want to take it completely off on a regular basis. It doesn't require any tools and doesn't use any hardware attached to the Jeep. You can go from covered to convertible to totally off in less than 2 minutes. Like all Jeep tops, it may drip a little above the front doors in heavy rain. Also, it can be a bit awkward to try to roll up and stow in the back without bending the windows too much.
like all new soft tops, it takes getting used to. the first couple of months i had this thing i had ALL the complaints people here are saying but the bottom line is it takes time to get used to HOW to install, reinstall and use your soft top! it's a bestop, you can't go wrong!the only two - three things you will hate are as follows:1) it collects rain. yup. if you leave it in the rain you will get nice puddles collected at the top. but this is easy to fix. go to [...], buy two flexible rods like door siding material. build some sort of holster to attach to your roll bars. for me, i just bought PVC piping and cut it in half. it fits perfect over the roll bar and with some padding glued inside it won't damage anything. then i literally glued a door stopped (black circular) to the end of it and i just slide the two door siding rods in there and prop it up. works like MAGIC.2) "omg its so hard to put on" COME ON! you're driving a jeep, not a cadillac! there are TRICKS, and you will learn them. the main one is...unvelcro the sides and undo the back tonnel flaps before you pull the front base to the front of the jeep. then, you're gonna want to tuck the main base under the door surrounds (yes, metal bar goes under the door surround bar) voila. perfect fit! your knobs will screw on easily now!!!3) doors-off is not too much fun with this soft top unless it is done up, or just rolled back halfway. if you roll it all the way back you get a lot of problems haha.i would say GET IT. just do it.
Great top - minimal hardware which means its compact and easy to store when off. Easy to roll back to open up the roof. It does flap and slap the roll bar with the windows open/doors off. The front corners create wind noise but it can be made quiet with some tinkering. Over all i really like this top.
To get it fit you need to really be outside in the sun so the fabric will expand a little bit, make sure you read the instruction before and know the parts and where they go as some don't have any marks. Overall, is a very nice product.
